"It is far too early," Edna grumbled as she stomped up to the students assembled in the Danger Shop with a cup of coffee almost as tall as she was. "People in the fashion industry seldom trouble with the bothersome morning hours."

She glanced around at the faces assembled before her. "I am Edna Mode, and you fortunate few have been graced with my presence for the precious time between fashions seasons," she announced. "Because you signed up for this class, you either have grand plans of becoming superheroes or have difficulty reading and understanding long words." Her gaze rested on a few students that she thought that might apply to. "Either way, it is far to much work to get out of taking my course. People pay me thousands of dollars to notice them! Why wouldn't you want to be here?"

She didn't stop to let anyone answer that.

"Today you will tell me your name--" she meant a superhero name, "and your boring alterego name if you have one. If I do not find the names to be suitable, I will give you another one!"

She sniffed. "And after that, you will design a logo for your superhero uniform." A snap from her finger and a logo appeared in midair. She smiled. "I do enjoy this room. This is an interesting logo! It is sleek, it has interesting colors, it has an "I" for Incredible for villains who can read...excellent." She'd designed it. "This is just as interesting. THIS is a crime against people with eyes," she snapped. "It's gaudy and pink and incomprehensible! Bah! Do not do such things!"

She clapped her hands together and tables full of fabric (and yes, more than a little bit of glitter. She'd taken the deluge as a 'we're so glad you're here' thing), piping, and very sharp scissors. "I will be walking around and offering critique on your choices, as will my assistant, Ms. Davis."

She clapped her hands together again. "Begin!"

"I'm Shilo," she replied. "Merlin's little sister... person. He told me to keep an eye out for you when I mentioned I was in this class. Sorry if I startled you or anything."

"Oh!" Little was right. Dear God, she was tiny. But Francine wasn't about to start down the same road she'd been with comparing herself to Morgana, because two displays of ridiculous insecurity in one week were entirely too much. "Hi! No, you didn't startle me. I was just trying to decide whether I should use the F after all, or just go with a big cookie for my logo."

Shilo laughed a little. "I can understand the F, but why a cookie?" she asked.

"My new codename is Sugar Shock," Francine explained. "Because I..." Okay, here it admittedly got dicey in logic. "Like to bake stuff for people." For uses of people that frequently equaled me. "So I guess I could send my enemies into a diabetic coma or something."

"That works for me," Shilo replied. "If I were a villain, I totally wouldn't see you as a threat. Until suddenly the sugar rush wore off and you could kick my ass."

Francine giggled. "Not that I have any ass-kicking powers, except when the island is having one of its weird weekends." She couldn't assume the same about anybody else of course. She'd learned that with Dinah, and oh boy, had she learned that with Merlin. "Do you?"

"Powers? No. Not unless you count my fantastic ability to faint when my blood pressure or pulse gets too high," Shilo replied.

Tiny and breakable, which made Francine kind of want to wrap her up in a blanket and feed her cocoa. ...And cookies, but that probably went without saying. "That sounds dangerous," she said in concerned tones. "There's a lot of stuff around here that could do that."

"I'm recovering from it right now," Shilo assured her. "It's not as bad as it was. If I'm careful, I can work through it." She smiled, as if to prove that it wasn't that big a deal.

"Okay," Francine said doubtfully. "I mean, good. But if you ever feel like you're going to fall over or something, yell. You can fall on me; I'm pretty soft."

"I'll keep that in mind, but I think the only time I may faint in here is if I want to get out of trying on my costume," Shilo joked.

Francine laughed. "I'm a little afraid of that one myself. Think if I design one that obviously doesn't fit me, she'll let me use somebody else as a model?"

"Might be worth a try," Shilo replied with a grin. "We should all design them to only fit her."

Francine clapped a hand over her mouth to avoid the explosive, "HA!" ~~Which her player sadly didn't manage in time.~~

Shilo giggled into her hand, hoping that the two of them wouldn't draw Edna's attention and/or wrath. "Ss-sssh," she managed to get out between giggles. "She'll come over to see what's so funny, and then we'll get into trouble!"

Francine snorted once, then calmed down. "She seems pretty cool. Strange, but cool."

"Yeah," Shilo agreed. "I'm just wondering if she's going to freak out on someone for daring to use pink and green in their costume, or something like that."

"I'm kind of wondering the same thing," Francine admitted. She couldn't even suggest that tiny as she was, the woman couldn't be too scary. Because hi would you like to meet my best friend, the five foot three blonde wolverine? "If nothing else I guess it'll be an adventure!"

"I guess that's a good attitude to have," Shilo replied. "Sooo. There was another reason I wanted to talk to you. I, um, heard your friend on the radio, talking about Merlin and me hanging out. I want you to know that he and I are just friends."

That last bit came out in a rush, as if she was trying to just get it out of her mouth as quickly as she could.

There was an odd dissonance for a moment as Francine dealt with the fact that she'd already filed Shilo into sweet and needs protecting and thus couldn't pull off being jealous of her if she tried. And seriously, that's saying something for a girl this good at the low self-esteem thing. "I wasn't worried about that! Don't worry; that's just Katchoo being... Katchoo."

"Okay," Shilo replied. "I just wanted to make sure that you knew. I'm... not used to being around people yet. So I don't want to upset someone I shouldn't."

"You don't have to worry about me," Francine assured her. "Or Katchoo. Her bark is..." Truth in advertising, Francine. "Actually not worse than her bite, but she won't bite you."

"Good," Shilo answered honestly. "I just am glad to have heard you say that. I guess the radio show is making me a little paranoid."
