Arts & Crafts, [Period 1, 5-11]

"Good morning," Steve said chipperly. "I hope everyone is wide awake and ready to get to work." He was far too enthusiastic for first thing on a Monday morning during summer break, really. It was his way. "Since this is summer camp, this is Arts and Crafts, because, well, it's traditional and I like doing it. Today we're going to get started with a gremlin in a jar because that's really the only appropriate place for a gremlin, in a jar where it can't bite you. Your instruction sheets and all the materials you'll need are on the tables, though in lieu of rocks or dirt for the gremlin's base I've provided glitter. It seems like more fun. So, let's get started, and while we're working if everyone could introduce themselves and tell me where and when they're from, that would be great. If you have any problems with the project or questions I'm glad to help in any way I can."

"Oh, that's just because I've been doing it longer," Claudia said breezily. "And your hair is so shiny! I'm jealous."

Dawn would be even more jealous. This girl had way better blonde hair.

Éowyn felt herself nearly blushing at the compliment. "I've been told I have my mother's hair," she said. "I've wondered sometimes how I would look if it were darker, like yours."

"Oooh, it'd be totes dramatic," Claudia said, "but it might wash you out a little. I think I have a wig you can try if you're really curious. I know I have one that's pink."

"Pink?" Éowyn laughed. "I do not know if I would look good in a color so...unique. That would be more for the boy with the very tall hair."

Yes, Priestly had been hard to miss these past few months.

"Really?" Éowyn had to smile at that - what a perfect pair they made. "Does his hair naturally grow like that?" she asked, making a motion above her own head to signify the mohawk.

"He must have a great deal of patience to do that each morning!" Éowyn said. "I quite enjoy sleeping, and would rather do that, I believe."

"Sometimes," Claudia said. "Like I knew what I was wearing to the picnic, for, like, days. Most of the time I'll think of it before I go to sleep."
