Sam had managed to wake up before his alarm for once, and when he couldn't go back to sleep, he got up and just started his day early. He got to the library with plenty of time to spare, even with the coffee and muffin he'd stopped to get on the way.

"I am not! That wouldn't be right. I'm at work," Sam said, taking a big bite of his burger.

"Got the munchies?" Dean asked pointedly.

"It's lunchtime. I'm hungry," Sam said. "All I had for breakfast were Francine's brownies."

Aha. "What kind of brownies?"

"I don't know," Sam said around another mouthful of burger. "She said she made them for finals, and she had extra, and my door was open so she gave me two of them. The secret ingredient was oregano." Sam paused. "But that was supposed to be a secret, so I didn't tell you."

Dean snickered. "I don't think it was oregano, dude."

"Chuck said it was good oregano," Sam replied.

"Chuck would," Dean said darkly.

"He was nice to me today!" Sam protested, taking another bite of his burger. "And he thinks you're hot."

Of course he did. Dean just avoided rolling his eyes. "And how do you feel about that?"

"Well, he's not wrong," Sam said, licking at his fingers to not miss any bit of food.

"That's usually my line," Dean pointed out, wondering if it was wrong to be amused by his stoned brother.

"Sorry, I didn't realize I wasn't allowed to ever say something you do," Sam teased.

"Dude, you just sorta called me hot."

Sam snickered. "You can't tell me you don't think it's true."

"Well yeah, but you usually just give me bitchface when the subject comes up."

"I'm not in a bitchface mood right now," Sam said. "I'm being nice, you should be happy like I am."

"Stoned you mean."

"I'm sorry I ate both of the brownies," Sam said, suddenly remembering. "I was going to give you one."

"So we could be stoned together? That would've been interesting."

"I didn't know what was in them," Sam insisted. "I would never make you do anything wrong and illegal. That would be bad."

Dean stared at him. "Sammy, we're hunters. Not much about that is legal."

"But we don't do drugs," Sam insisted, snickering. "Even if they are kind of fun."

"My brother the stoner," Dean said as if trying it on for size.

"I'm not a stoner!" Sam protested. "You're making me sound like a bad person."
