Zero sits behind the collection's desk, back to the door, with her feet up on a table. She has headphones on, at a volume audible from outside the library, and is working on her laptop. Good luck getting her attention. Anyone entering the library would see that she is on CafePress.

On the table next to her is a large plate of chocolate chip cookies, with a sign: LIBRARY STAFF ONLY (and Hank).

Cameron enters the library and heads for where Zero is sitting. He has no clue if they'll even have the book he's looking for, but it doesn't hurt to try.

"Excuse me," he says, trying to get get Zero's attention.

*Zero obliviously continues researching stickers*

Angelus swings by the library during a free moment between classes. He smiles when he spots Zero behind the counter. "Hey."

*Zero missed her parents' kidnapping (and their beating the shit out of the kidnappers and destroying half the house) due to volume concerns. Angelus is going to have to try harder than that.*

Sam is lost in her own thoughts and doesn't even notice Zero. She sits down at a table and begins working on some complicated mathematical formulas ~~that are in no way based on alien technology~~.

Cameron waits for a moment, when Zero remains oblivious he waves his hand in front of the screen.

Wha? Oh. *pauses the MP3 and pulls off her headphones* Yeah?

I mean, can I help you?

*grins* I hope so, but I'm not sure if you could.

Do you guys have any weapons on Old Republic blasters? Preferably on what makes them work and what doesn't.

I don't know what those are, but probably. Computer catalogue, over there. *waves hand vaguely toward back of library* Good luck.

*wanders off to go look it up himself*

*Realizes she was rude.*

*Shrugs and goes back to her research*

Mac comes back in with the Shi'ar dictionary and magazines that he checked out yesterday. After trying to get Zero's attention several times, he makes a small firecracker out of remnants of tobacco from the ashtray outside, some leftover gremlin spittle and fertilizer from the yardworkers outside.

It makes a loud popping noise.

Janet walks in the door and sees Mac's firecracker.

"Hey!" she exclaims. "No flammables around the books!"

[ooc: snerk]

When Zero didn't respond right away, Angelus leaned over the counter to wave a hand in between her and the computer.

"Just trying to get Pinkie's attention. Besides there wasn't any flame. Just noise and *cough* a little smoke. I'd just like to get these books checked in."

*Mac is referred to Zero's reaction to Angelus, or lack thereof. However, once he does get her attention, she's probably not going to be very happy about the soot stain on her nice clean library floor. He is advised to leave his books on the collections desk and flee while the fleeing's good.*

*notices the smoke*

*rips off her headphones, blasting the library with high-decible Dirk Hopeless & the Undertow, and whips around in her seat*

What the squall is goin' on here?

"Her name's Zero," says Janet. "Leave the books on the desk. Fine, no flame, but you messed up the library floor." She goes to get a rag and a spray bottle of cleaner left over from the zombie incursion, and holds them out to Mac. "Here you go."

*pauses mp3 again, pulls headphones down to around neck and tilts her head back*

*smiles sunnily* Hi, upside-down Angelus.

Janet? What just happened here?

"Like we didn't have enough to clean up after the AV kid and the zombie soup?" asked Janet.

"I'd like to have my books checked in Miss. Perhaps if you weren't so busy listening to music I wouldn't have to resort to such measures."

*Mac hands over the book and magazines he checked out yesterday and cleans up the soot on the floor using a mixture of baking soda and water.*

They love makin' our lives more difficult, I've decided.

What do you think of bright orange for the dangerous book stickers?

*rolls eyes* Leave the books on the desk and we'll check them in, sir.

Also, you could've just shook my shoulder or somethin', there was no need to resort to explosives.

"Our new shop teacher," says Janet, gesturing at him. "Thought it'd be fun to set off a harmless little firecracker in here." She smiled tightly. "I'm about to file him with the AV Club kid mentally. You?"
