There was no Buffy in the library today.

What there was was a sign on the door:

Off killing zombies
Research books on the table if you need them.
(No stealing on my non-watch!!!)


[Buffy's- clearly- not there, but the library can be open for those who might need it.]

Mac frowned, and looked back down at her book. "It's just... zombies don't usually just appear," she said. "Or they'd be everywhere. There has to be a reason."

"It could be someone's actually using them for something specific."

"You mean they were, like, summoned or something?" Summer asked.

"Exactly." She nodded, tapping the book in front of her. "A spell or something. Like voodoo. Where there's someone running the show, dictating what they do."

"That's possible around here, I guess. I mean, there's a lot of magical types around," Summer said. "But I can't imagine anyone here would want to do that."

Mac shrugged. "I guess, it wouldn't have to be someone we know," she suggested.

"But if it is a voodoo spell, or a curse or something... It might just be breakable." It was something, maybe.

"And it could be reversed," Summer said, thinking about the people who were currently in a zombie state. "If it is a curse or a spell."

"With all the books here, there has to be something specific on voodoo," she decided. "It couldn't hurt to look for that."

Summer nodded, reaching for another book. "I'll keep looking."

Mac nodded. "Yeah," she said, standing up. "I'm going to ask around, see if anyone else has come across anything voodoo-related."

"Good luck with that," Summer said sincerely before continuing to leaf through one of the books.
