Library, Friday

There was no Buffy in the library today.

What there was was a sign on the door:

Off killing zombies
Research books on the table if you need them.
(No stealing on my non-watch!!!)

[Buffy's- clearly- not there, but the library can be open for those who might need it.]

He'd been too busy with other research to notice what had been going on. But that morning, Ender had listened to the broadcasts of the past two days, put down his laptop, and made his way down to the library.

He wasn't interested in getting involved in any conflicts or chess games, but there was another problem going on. He hit the books with care, leaving stacks of anything related he hadn't got to yet on the table. Someone else might be able to use them.

Mac was not a zombie fighter. Not in the slightest.

She had brought what looked like it had once been a mop handle, that she'd found god knows where, just in case. Hopefully, she wouldn't have to use it.

Her place in times of invasion was right here, in the library, and she grabbed a few of those books to settle down and page through the information.

Alex was definitely not up for fighting zombies. Especially considering a) she wasn't a fighter and b) her spells really didn't aid in repelling zombies.

So, instead, she was at the library, in an attempt to find something useful for warding off the undead. And fixing people who'd been turned, because it was bound to happen.

Cal...was actually deciding that, okay, he was going to try to do something. He was definitely not going to the diner today. It wouldn't be the first time he'd skipped out on work, so he was pretty sure Lacey would get over it. Besides, it made little sense to go and try to feed the masses when the masses were actually trying to feed on you.

Even if looking into the matter proved futile, checking out zombie literature was at least something of vague fun, or something that was in fact fun if he ignored the fact that it was a pretty present reality.

This was so being made into a story.

It wasn't that he didn't want to fight zomebies... well, maybe it was. Did you want to clean that pus off a titanium suit? He thought not.

But he was there to help with the research. Just ignore the odd looking gauntlet he had with him. Just in case.

Harper had left work early and hit the library, feeling completely awful after having seen Hurley as a zombie. At least she could feel useful while looking through books.

Summer was not a fighter type, so she was not about to go out there and try to kill zombies. Not wanting to feel completely useless, she headed to the library to look through some books. That was simple enough.

"Do they seem organised to you?" Mac asked looking up from where she'd been pouring over a book nearby. "I mean, I know they're shambly and disgusting, but... are they that in a purposeful sort of way?"

[identity profile] chic-harper.livejournal.com 2009-04-03 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Harper randomly turned to whoever was near her. "Hey, I found something on how to fight zombies (http://www.fvza.org/zdefense.html)! Do you think this will help?"

Her knitting needles were now in her hair, within easy reach in case anything undead stepped into the library.

[identity profile] imac-kenzie.livejournal.com 2009-04-03 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Mac stared at the book a moment. "I will never stop being amazed at the weird things we keep in this library," she stated.

[identity profile] chic-harper.livejournal.com 2009-04-03 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
"And look, it's from the Federal Vampire and Zombie Agency (http://www.fvza.org/index.html), so they've got to know their stuff!" added Harper, smiling.

She hadn't yet noticed the logo for a comic book publisher on the book.

"Their purpose seems to be to bite and attack people," Summer said after a moment of thought. "And they really need to look into moisturizer or something."

[identity profile] imac-kenzie.livejournal.com 2009-04-03 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Mac frowned, and looked back down at her book. "It's just... zombies don't usually just appear," she said. "Or they'd be everywhere. There has to be a reason."

"It could be someone's actually using them for something specific."

[identity profile] imac-kenzie.livejournal.com 2009-04-03 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's probably more reliable than zombie movies?" Mac decided, nodding. "I mean, those things are usually hardly realistic."

[identity profile] chic-harper.livejournal.com 2009-04-03 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's hard to say. I've never seen a real zombie up until now," said Harper. "I guess this kind of thing happens all the time in Fandom, but I just transferred here at the beginning of the semester."

[identity profile] chic-harper.livejournal.com 2009-04-03 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Harper looked pretty gloomy when she sat down next to Alex and reached for another book. "They got my big sibling," she said. "Hurley stopped in at work, and he was all zombie-fied. It was disgusting, but he seemed so sad when I started screaming."

[identity profile] blackmagic-eve.livejournal.com 2009-04-03 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Eve had taken a sizable stack of the research materials and was hiding herself away at a table.

This whole thing just seemed so damn weird. Beyond the whole "What the fuck, zombies?" aspect of it.

[identity profile] imac-kenzie.livejournal.com 2009-04-03 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
"You haven't been into the bar?" Mac asked.

[identity profile] chic-harper.livejournal.com 2009-04-03 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
"Not really," said Harper. "I seem to spend my evenings working sewing and knitting."
absolutesnark: (Contemplative)

[personal profile] absolutesnark 2009-04-03 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
"You mean they were, like, summoned or something?" Summer asked.

[identity profile] imac-kenzie.livejournal.com 2009-04-03 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
"They have zombies normally," she told her. "As the band. I think they might've been leftovers from the last invasion."

"They aren't like the ones out there at the moment."

[identity profile] chic-harper.livejournal.com 2009-04-03 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
"Really? And they're, like, totally under control and everything?" asked Harper. "I'll have to check it out one day once it's safe to go out. They do let in kids from the school, right?"

[identity profile] ktarian-wildman.livejournal.com 2009-04-03 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Naomi knew that she would be able to help better by research rather than fighting so she got a few different books that she hoped would be useful and sat down to read them.

[identity profile] imac-kenzie.livejournal.com 2009-04-03 11:07 pm (UTC)(link)
"Exactly." She nodded, tapping the book in front of her. "A spell or something. Like voodoo. Where there's someone running the show, dictating what they do."

[identity profile] imac-kenzie.livejournal.com 2009-04-03 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Mac nodded. "They're... very lax on the carding thing," she said. "Or they used to be. I haven't been in for a really, really long time."
