Flight Club [Flight Shed]

There were, of course, snacks and drinks set up for the members of the club today. Gavin would never fall down on that duty even if today's club was going to be a little...sillier than previous meetings.

"Hey guys, welcome back," he said, nodding at them all. "Today, we're going to be doing something a little different. Usually, we get into the flight sim, do some scenarios and that's that. We're not going to be in the flight sim today. Nope, today, we're going to be making paper airplanes."

Yes, that's right. There were reams of paper on the table next to the snacks and drinks.

"You guys might be the best pilots in the galaxy but I bet you never think about things like this, how to make a ship aerodynamic, what to fold, bend, and tear to make sure your plan flies the fastest and furthest. Sure, they're just paper but you never know when something might apply to real world flying."

Yes, paper airplanes.

"Go to it!"

Talk to each other, eat food, drink drinks, wonder wtf kind of meeting this is.

Make paper airplanes! Make a lot of them! Fly them! Crush them against things!

He's around, trying not to get papercuts.

He might not be around today due to, you know, being a scary kitty.

On one hand, Jaina was back and starting to look a little more like her stressed-out normal self. On the other, she had to be here just in case her grandfather the cat was here, at which point she was likely to have the world's best giggle fit before needing to leave right away.

Paper airplanes, seriously? Gavin was weird.

You'd think Tahiri might be a little more annoyed by that today, but she was actually in kind of a relaxed mood. Funny how that worked.

John Sheppard

John looked around the room. "I bet my airplane's the best," he announced smugly. "Unless the Jedi have some special mental folding technique."

Oh yeah, trash-talk about paper.

John made freaking awesome paper airplanes. Of course, he'd had a lot of practice in boring classrooms.

"Seriously, paper airplanes?" Tahiri asked, grinning. "Next time I have to go home, I don't think I'm going to be able to look at older you and not laugh."

"They're a perfectly valid means of exercising hand eye coordination," Gavin said, grinning. "That and I was out of ideas for what to do this week. Paper airplanes are fun."

"It's definitely a new perspective on things," Tahiri agreed. "Actually, I was wondering if I could ask you to maybe give me some pointers on flying sometime. I know Tatooine has a reputation for turning out some astral pilots, but I'm definitely not one of them."

"I can do that," he said, totally not caring about paper airplanes now. "I haven't been flying as long as other versions of me have been but I think I can handle myself pretty well despite what some other people would say."

Skywalkers. Pfft.

"They're lying liars."

"You've logged more hours than I have," Tahiri pointed out. She wasn't counting things that involved cognition hoods. She wouldn't wish that on him anyway. "I asked Jaina, too, but she's kind of busy, and I need a lot of practice."

Because last she'd heard, they wanted more Jedi in charge of fighter squadrons, and apparently somebody in the Fleet had been crazy enough to bring her name up. And um, as things stood at the moment, that was just insane.

"I can help you, no problem," Gavin said, nodding. "I was just teasing you. I'm used to Luke or Ben giving me a hard time because they're bot dorks. But, yeah, I'm always happy to help. Whenever you need it. Whatever I can do."

"They would," Tahiri said, and laughed. "And that would be great. I'm just not comfortable in there yet. Which might have a few things to do with barely being able to reach the foot yokes."

She was kind of braced for an Ewok joke.

Anakin would not like to discuss how long it took him to get back to the island, no.

That was one sulky kitty in a corner.

"We'll have just to get you some really chunky boots," Gavin said and then added, "or some engineering advice from an Ewok."

Look, aw, Gavin provided even if the joke wasn't THAT good.

Tahiri groaned, but she had been expecting it. "Not you too," she half protested. "And I have the boots, I just hate them and it makes me twitchy."
