Flight Club [Flight Shed]

There were, of course, snacks and drinks set up for the members of the club today. Gavin would never fall down on that duty even if today's club was going to be a little...sillier than previous meetings.

"Hey guys, welcome back," he said, nodding at them all. "Today, we're going to be doing something a little different. Usually, we get into the flight sim, do some scenarios and that's that. We're not going to be in the flight sim today. Nope, today, we're going to be making paper airplanes."

Yes, that's right. There were reams of paper on the table next to the snacks and drinks.

"You guys might be the best pilots in the galaxy but I bet you never think about things like this, how to make a ship aerodynamic, what to fold, bend, and tear to make sure your plan flies the fastest and furthest. Sure, they're just paper but you never know when something might apply to real world flying."

Yes, paper airplanes.

"Go to it!"

Talk to each other, eat food, drink drinks, wonder wtf kind of meeting this is.

On one hand, Jaina was back and starting to look a little more like her stressed-out normal self. On the other, she had to be here just in case her grandfather the cat was here, at which point she was likely to have the world's best giggle fit before needing to leave right away.

Paper airplanes, seriously? Gavin was weird.

You'd think Tahiri might be a little more annoyed by that today, but she was actually in kind of a relaxed mood. Funny how that worked.

And because it would never not be funny, Jaina greeted Tahiri with, "My grandfather's still a cat."

"He is," Tahiri said, and it was already really hard to suppress the urge to giggle. Actually, she was kind of failing at suppressing it. "A really cranky cat."

"He had so much fun putting me in mugs-" Not how it happened; she fell into the mug. "-when I was like that, you'd think he would take some joy from it himself."

And here Jaina was, just thinking karma was a bitch.

"It's your grandfather," Tahiri pointed out, and okay, now there really was snickering. She couldn't help it if the idea of kitten-Jaina in a mug only added to the hilarity.

So far Jaina was managing to hold it in, though she was definitely trying to hold it in. "I need to start taking holos if this is going to last," she decided, completely oblivious to the scurrying of tiny little green creatures nearby.

"I should have thought of that!" Tahiri was trying to keep her voice down and get the laughing back under control, which just made her sound kind of strangled. And that took up enough of her concentration that she didn't notice anything tiny, green, and sneaking up on her either.

It was really strange for her to get this kind of reaction out of Tahiri, but Jaina considered it to be a good thing. "John might have his phone..." she said, looking around to see if he was still there.

Of course, that put her at a good angle for the gremlin that was launching itself towards the ever-present comlink in her hand to totally miss, and grab onto her hand instead. Mostly with his teeth. Oops.

It could have occurred to Tahiri that this was strange (but in a good way), except that trying not to laugh loud enough to invoke a certain kitty's wrath took too much concentration.

Also? She was about to learn one more drawback to going barefoot all the time. Namely, the gremlin that had just sunk its teeth into her left instep.

Ow.

Jaina was already cursing as she shook the gremlin off, watching it flee and resisting the urge to go after him in case that made the venom work sooner. "If I sing again, so help me..."

Tahiri had picked up a few choice words from the Wraiths, all of which she put to good use before the pain even wore off.

"Again? Oh. Oh, no."

John looked around the room. "I bet my airplane's the best," he announced smugly. "Unless the Jedi have some special mental folding technique."

Oh yeah, trash-talk about paper.

Paper airplanes? Hoshi was too busy boggling at the idea to grab a snack, but was perfectly happy to boggle with someone else.

Momoko grabbed a few snacks. She was kind of upset that they wouldn't actually be flying anything. Especially since she missed the last few meetings.

Ooooh. Look a kitty!
