Sex Ed, Monday [3-2] Third Period

"Welcome back," Steve said. "I hope you all enjoyed your break, and that everyone is minus any new regrets and not too horribly sunburnt. Today I'd like to talk about peer pressure. Peer pressure is a terrible thing. You're sitting there, minding your own business, and then your so-called 'friends' tell you 'everyone else is doing it' or 'you'll be a loser if you don't,' and the next thing you know you're wearing a suit that cost more than should ever be spent on clothes and fighting a Nazi made out of bees in the middle of a Las Vegas casino. So it's bad, is what I'm saying. Don't do it. And when people try it on you, whether they're trying to get you to have sex or get a tattoo or buy stupidly expensive clothes or register with the government, tell them to get lost.

"Your assignment for today is to resist peer pressure. You can get into pairs or groups, whatever works well for you, and one of you will resist peer pressure applied by the others, who are trying to convince you to eat a bacon cookie. Have fun."

Pair or group up to resist peer pressure! Since it's a bacon cookie, it shouldn't be that hard.

Edmund eyed a bacon cookie and leaned back in his chair. "Anyone want a biscuit? New flavour. It's the newest craze on the mainland." He wasn't trying terribly hard to be convincing.

"I think bacon and cookies are better left separated," Ned decided. "Combining them just seems foolish."

"What's so foolish about bacon and biscuits? They're both delicious. They're both excellent for snacks. It's like a bacon roll, only sweeter."

"Yeah, but cookies are sweet." Ned thought that explained it but he added, "Bacon is not. They don't belong smushed together in a biscuit form."

"Well, I've got some experience with baking things and I've never come across a recipe for a bacon cookie," he said dubiously. "Are all the cookbooks wrong?"

"Have you tried one yet?" Éowyn asked with a bit of a smirk. "I'm afraid I cannot trust a salesman who has not sampled his own product."

"It's certainly an interest flavour," Edmund replied diplomatically. "Although I hardly consider myself a salesman. I prefer purveyor of all things interesting."

Helen shrugged. "They taste delicious. Think what you'd be missing out on."

It was a cookie, Hinata thought tiredly. Did it really even matter? If it was awful, then it was awful for the time it took to eat it.

She was pretty close to just... deciding that she'd eat the thing, and get this over with. It wasn't like cookies mattered it the great scheme of things.

Priestly wasn't so much pairing up as wandering around.

And chewing.

He held out a plate of cookies towards Hinata, speaking as though he had his mouth full. "Wanna cookie?"

"I m-might as well," she said, smiling slightly and taking one. "As then I can c-claim I've done the exercise."

She glanced down at it. "And failed." But, really, Hinata wasn't really of the opinion that it mattered over cookies.

"Fraid so." Priestly shrugged and swallowed. "But, hey, just a cookie, right? Not like they're addictive."

"Or dangerous," she agreed, nibbling on hers and finding it, well, a bit weird but edible. "And a c-cookie is fairly easy to say yes or no to."

Liir wasn't sure what to do because when it came right down to it, he liked the bacon cookies. Even if he thought the recipe could be improved...

Priestly was chewing. Not that he had any food in his mouth, he was just . . . chewing. He held a plate with some of the cookies out towards Liir. "Cookie?" he asked, as though his mouth was full.

Priestly shrugged, still chewing, withdrew the plate of cookies, and immediately turned around to talk to someone else.

He quirked his lips and wondered if.

"Have you had one?" he asked.

"Because they're actually rather good. The bacon works nicely, gives it a saltiness..."

Alice glanced around, wondering if she should be a naive child, new to the realities of bacon cookies, or a leering predator, hoping to lure someone into the dark world of bacon cookies. She supposed she could let her companion choose.
