Into the Black Flight Club meeting (Tuesday evening)

Anakin and Padmé sat on the ramp of Padmé's ship. The smell of the pizza ordered for the Flight Club's first meeting wafted out and caused Anakin's stomach to rumble.

He practically vibrated with energy. Could be the possibility of flying again. Could be the excuse to spend more time with the Senator. Either way, he's in a fantastic mood.

::Cally shows up, all dressed up in her father's old jumpsuit::

Alright, anybody else actually a mechanic? Hurry up, I got an election celebration to get too... ::taps her foot, smiling::

Anakin grinned. "Am I not allowed to be both?"

He grabbed a slice of pizza and walked over to Cally. "Have you seen the ship that's taking up space in Jayne's backyard? He said we can have it for the club and I'd love to take it, assuming it can break atmo and not break into pieces. I'm pretty sure it's going to take more than just me to fix it up--what's your schedule like?"

Sam ran into the room, a little breathless. "Sorry, I forgot about the meeting." She grinned at Cally and blushed, mouthing the words, "Thank you."

She grabbed a slice of pizza and bit down, promptly burning the roof of her mouth.

Well, it is kinda your club, I guess. So you can be whatever you want. ::smile::

Well, as for my schedule, I got classes pretty much every day... but I'm pretty much free after Bio on thursdays, and only have Math on fridays, so I got a lot of free time there...

Gods, I miss flying.

"We can be in two categories, right?" Sam asked.

"Of course."

[OOC: Mostly because there were 20 chars that signed up for this and I figured that there could be some serious chaos without some anal-retentive categories.]

Only as copilot and naviagtor. And I only get to plot easy hops.

"Tell me about it." Anakin looked sad. "I haven't flown in a month. I haven't been ground-bound that long since, well, ever."

"No problem at all. Glad you could make it."

He gestured at Cally. "We were just talking about some serious work that needs to be done on a ship at Jayne's before it's going to be ready to fly. How handy are you with a wrench?"

"Good. Because I miss it, and I'd hate to be stuck on the ground or to have to choose between tinkering and flying." She laughed. "I think my head would explode."

[OOC: I figured.]

::looks at Sam, kinda confused::

::mouths "What For?", since apparently it's some sort of secret::

Anakin shrugged. "We all have to start somewhere."

Sam pried the cheese off the roof of her mouth with her tongue, grimacing. "Better than average, I guess."

I've been training to be in the Fleet since ~~my father told me to~~ I was small and I've flown in mostly heavy raiders but I've flown in a viper a few times and...gods, it's the best feeling I've ever had."

"What kinds of vehicles do you usually fly?"

Anakin laughed too. 'Oh, I'd never make anyone choose between those two. It'd be like cutting off an arm or something."

::mouths "For leaving Jack and I alone yesterday" and grins hugely::

::mouths "I owe you chocolate"::

Ivanova pokes her head into the meeting rather tentatively. "Ah, hello. I was just wandering by and, uh, noticed the ship, and I was wondering if it would still be possible to join? I missed the first meeting. Or sign-up. Whichever. I was actually off-planet at the time. I have a ship we can use." She pauses. "Learning Minbari isn't that hard . . ."

"And we wouldn't want that...I mean, how could you hold the wrench if that happened?"

Seen a nebula. It was pretty.
