Into the Black Flight Club meeting (Tuesday evening)

Anakin and Padmé sat on the ramp of Padmé's ship. The smell of the pizza ordered for the Flight Club's first meeting wafted out and caused Anakin's stomach to rumble.

He practically vibrated with energy. Could be the possibility of flying again. Could be the excuse to spend more time with the Senator. Either way, he's in a fantastic mood.

"Tell me about it." Anakin looked sad. "I haven't flown in a month. I haven't been ground-bound that long since, well, ever."

I've been training to be in the Fleet since my father told me to I was small and I've flown in mostly heavy raiders but I've flown in a viper a few times and...gods, it's the best feeling I've ever had."

"What kinds of vehicles do you usually fly?"

"If it can get off the ground, I'll try to fly it. Mostly starfighters, though these days. Small, fast, heavily armed..." Anakin's eyes began to shine. "I wasn't allowed to bring it with me to school, though. The Jedi starfighters belong to the Order, not to the individual Jedi."

How manuverable are Jedi starfighters in a battle?

"They're pretty zippy. I've done some...tinkering to mine that gives it a little more in speed and manueverabilty, too. They're not hyperdrive-capable on their own yet, though." He leaned in. "Tell me about the viper."

Vipers are the Colonial Defence Force's primary space attack fighters. Crazy-ass manuverability and they're very small. and look astonishingly like X-Wings...not that you know what X-Wings look like....

"That'd be fantastic. Next meeting Draco's agreed to show us how he flies around on a broomstick. I figured we might as well learn as much as possible about as many different ways to fly as we can." Anakin grabbed another piece of pizza. "Since I've never met a way of getting airborne I haven't loved, why not, right?"

"That's what I said! Apparently where he comes from, brooms are normal and spaceships are strange." Anakin ran a hand through his hair. "This school, you know?"
