Movie Appreciation: Week 7, Period 3 (Fri. 2/20)

Movie students would be pleased (or disappointed, who knows!) to see they were back to their regular movie theater sans-treadmills or any other gym equipment. Look, Ronon was being kind or something.

He leaned against the podium and gestured at the opening image frozen on the screen. "Today we're talking about trilogies. You all know that Space Battles thing and we saw part of the Fatal Rock trilogy, and I'd bet some of you know those Fabulous Foursome comic book movies, so the question for today is this: Are all trilogies created equal? Can sports movies hold up to three incarnations as well as action or science fiction? You be the judge. Then? Have a catfight. It was the goal of these, after all."

And then he made them watch clips of all three versions of meta for Bring it On. There was a cheerleader theme happening this week.

Angela was slouching in her seat and watching. She could really be doing worse with this week, but that didn't mean she was at her bright and cheery best.

Still, these movies might suck, but what these girls could do was pretty awesome. She might be taking some mental notes.

Penelope listened to the short lecture and watched the clips. Despite the clips, she thought being a cheerleader would be fun.

Romeo listened and watched the clips. The acting was pretty bad, but there were girls in short skirts flipping around, so he didn't mind so much.

John hated everything. And his ass hurt, dammit. He was not enjoying sitting in the theater at all.

Peter watched the clips. He didn't mind them so much. Then again he did seem to have a thing for cheerleaders.

Peyton was... frustrated. Very frustrated.

And tired.

And so not wanting to watch cheerleaders right now.

Dinah kind of loved the first one, but the other two were terrible.

Yes, she's seen them all. Shut up.

Claudia was mostly focused on the girls' hairstyles.

Sokka raised a hand. "How are these SPORTS movies???" he asked incredulously.

Aww, those girls' attempts to improve themselves through acrobatics. Bender wouldn't have taken them seriously any week. This one, with its wiring problems?

Meant he was leering more at the screen than the movie.

Brooke could not sit still to save her life. She looked antsy and pretty much ready to stab the person next to her with a pen if they so much looked at her funny. Because all the jitteriness wouldn't draw any attention.

"Yes, not usually, and only if they're shown on TV," Sokka answered confidently.

Oh, Angela could definitely ignore the fact her head was still kind of sore for this.

School sponsored fake catfight was a vast improvement on last week.

Penelope could not catfight.

Um. No.

Romeo was a bit cranky today and would probably turn any mock catfight into a real fight at any provocation. He narrowed his eyes and looked for someone to argue with.

Oh, Peyton was all over the idea of a catfight. Not like she hadn't had her fair share of them in the past!

Firekeeper could hardly believe they were actually going to fight. In class.

It was possible she was taking the term "catfight" a bit too literally. Blame the fact that the only catfight she'd ever been in had been against an actual jaguar.

Tony thought the first movie was pretty decent. Less so the other two.
