Leadership, Friday, 3rd Period

Scott was feeling inspired today. This probably meant nothing good for anyone.

"There are some times when you're presented with a relatively simple project that's made more difficult by some kind of insane or bizarre obstacle that you need to overcome. That can mean having to deal with something in your personal life, unrealistic expectations from a superior, or, in Fandom, pretty much anything you could imagine."

"So, let's try something easy. I'm going to pair you up and ask each pair to put together a 1000 piece puzzle of Times Square. Decide how you're going to work together to do it, and have at it," Scott said. "Your goal is to finish by the end of class somehow."

He decided not to mention the fact that he had taken three pieces from each puzzle and swapped them with random pieces from other groups' puzzles. Or that the class currently had a nearly 50/50 gender split.

Insane obstacles, people.

The Art of Scrap, Friday, Period 4

Dean was not about to admit in a million years that what had put him so out of sorts last class was not, in fact, a cold, but rather a mild pollen allergy that had been kept under control for the remainder of the week with some quick and easy pharmaceuticals.

Whatever it had been, he had coffee again this week, and he was looking pretty laid-back. It had not been a bad week. And he'd managed to get his head in order enough to be able to ready the classroom for today's lecture. By covering each desk, wall, and every last inch of floorspace in blank newsprint.

Library [2/17]

Wesley was alphabetizing some new books that had come in. Yes.

Certainly not wondering if Katniss was going to that, ah, sleepover this evening. That was crude. And sexist. Entirely -- unacceptable, really.

And yet he was thinking it. Blast.

Everyday Skills, Friday 2nd Period

Oz had sent an email to the class telling them wear clothes that could stand up to some rough handling. As each student entered the Danger Shop, he handed them either a squirt gun or a bucket of brightly coloured water balloons.

Once the entire class had arrived, he began. "Sometimes you need to know how to make the most of what you've got," Oz told them. "You might be in competition with people who have different resources to you, they may be better resources, they may not. But usually? Knowing how to effectively use the resources you have can make all the difference."

"Other times, you just need to know when to cool off." Which would be when he triggered the catapult full of balloons aimed right at the class.
