Leadership, Friday, 3rd Period
Scott was feeling inspired today. This probably meant nothing good for anyone.
"There are some times when you're presented with a relatively simple project that's made more difficult by some kind of insane or bizarre obstacle that you need to overcome. That can mean having to deal with something in your personal life, unrealistic expectations from a superior, or, in Fandom, pretty much anything you could imagine."
"So, let's try something easy. I'm going to pair you up and ask each pair to put together a 1000 piece puzzle of Times Square. Decide how you're going to work together to do it, and have at it," Scott said. "Your goal is to finish by the end of class somehow."
He decided not to mention the fact that he had taken three pieces from each puzzle and swapped them with random pieces from other groups' puzzles. Or that the class currently had a nearly 50/50 gender split.
Insane obstacles, people.

Re: Do the Puzzle
Sorry, Jack. She just kind of forgot that not everyone knew she was a witch.
"It's a shield. That should hopefully stop whatever rampaging monstrosity comes barreling for our puzzle."
Which she had yet to help with.
Re: Do the Puzzle
A second later he was reminding himself that Karla was just about the same age as his daughter.
"Right! Shield! No ninjas!" he exclaimed a bit too loudly. "Um. Thank you."
Re: Do the Puzzle
Though, again, she still hadn't moved to actually help with the puzzle. On a good week, Karla didn't have the patience for them.
"Hi, I'm Karla," she added, since it was kind of obvious they'd never met. She offered him a hand...and a slightly warmer smile than she might otherwise have given on a non-crazy week.
Re: Do the Puzzle
And then remembering again that his daughter is about her age.
And then his attention snapped back to the puzzle with laser sharp focus.
"Who just loves a good puzzle!"

Jack gestured around at the magical shield.
"-glowy thing."
Re: Do the Puzzle
1) Jigsaw puzzles
2) Times Square
Things Cara was not focused on right now:
1) Jigsaw puzzles
2) Times Square
Things Cara cared about not being focused on:
...you could see where this was going, right?
Thus her contribution today was mostly along the lines of glaring at random puzzle pieces and pushing them around with a finger. Sorry, Bobby.

She appreciated the eye candy factor on her partner
assuming he tags in, anyhow.Re: Do the Puzzle
"Puzzle, huh?" He was kind of pointedly looking down at it with his brow furrowed. "... I guess it's a good thing I had a really boring childhood, today."
Re: Do the Puzzle
It didn't even matter that Mr.Summers hadn't said it was a competition. In Quinn's head, it definitely was.
Re: Do the Puzzle
He was already picking through and pulling out all the border pieces, for easy assembly. And for the sake of not looking up.
Re: Do the Puzzle
She fitted a corner piece into the two that went around it and grinned in triumph.
Re: Do the Puzzle
There had to be a system for it.
He shuffled through the pieces some more, making certain that he hadn't missed any more edge pieces, before he started sorting the rest of the pieces into piles based on colors and patterns.
"Yeah? Mine never really was the puzzle sort. But they kept me occupied and actually thinking, and that was better than letting me sit in front of the TV all day, you know?"
Re: Do the Puzzle
Squall sat down and set about, grumpily, but methodically, dividing the pieces up by color and whether or not they had a straight edge.
Re: Do the Puzzle
if he was here."Ugh."
Re: Do the Puzzle
How much of that confidence might be misplaced, well . . . that remained to be seen.
