Practical Mythology, 1/11/12, Period 2, [Class Session 2]

Again the class met in the Danger Shop, but this time the simulation was something far more extravagant.

Oh! Gods! )

What was the school Board.... now with more Welsh!

Today's class was in the Danger Shop today though the room itself resembled a normal classroom. Except for the fact that there was a duplicate of Jamie tied up in a straight jacket, tied to a dolly with a rather scary looking mask attached to his face.

"Good morning kids!" Jamie said cheerfully. "Today we're going to discuss a very important topic that will no doubt affect some of you at one time or other in the future."

First Principles... )

Mad Kings & Queens: Raving Royals and How To Survive Them (Wednesday, 4th Period)

When class started today, Ghanima did a quick count to see who was back, and who may have dropped. Once that was accomplished, she gave them all a bright smile.

"Today, we start near the beginning," she said. "Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus Germanicus, more commonly known by his nickname Caligula, was the third emperor of the Roman Empire, and a member of the Julio-Claudian dynasty which descended from Augustus."

I, Caligula Caesar, command in the name of the senate and the people of Rome. I, Caligula Caesar, command in the name of the senate and the people of Rome. I, Caligula Caesar, command in the name of the senate and the people of Rome. Rome! Rome! Rome! Caesar! Caesar! Rome! Rome! Rubbish! Rubbish! )

The Library | Wednesday | 1/11

Dorothy had yet to burst into any songs today, as she settled in behind the desk. When she settled in to read a book about rainbows, however, she was suddenly overcome with a strange and irrepressible urge...

Cut for lyrics, you probably saw this coming... )

Dorothy looked around and hoped she was not about to get into trouble for making too much noise in the library.

Is A Cigar Just A Cigar, Wednesday, Period 3

In retrospect, Cindy should have realized this week's class was a bad idea. After bursting into song while ordering her coffee at the Perk today, she should have just come to class and popped in a DVD.

Unfortunately, she'd decided to just power through today's lecture. Which meant she had no one to blame but herself for what happened. "One of the problems we touched upon last week with discussing symbolism in literature is that it's very culturally subjective. Another problem is that the discussion of literature comes with its own unique vocabulary. I wish--"Singing Lecture )

She gave up. Just gave up, throwing her hands up into the air in exasperation. "Care for your diction, Care for your diction, Care for your diction. Careful of...the words!"
