Library [02/18]

After spending the previous evening drinking, getting into a fight, having quality time in jail, and finding out that Chuck Bass was actually kind of human, Sam was hoping for a quiet day in the library that would be kind to his mild hangover. He was never, ever drinking on a Tuesday night again. Probably.

"I like that idea. We won't have anything distracting either of us," he said.

"Except maybe each other," Peter pointed out with a grin.

"I won't let that stop me from teaching you," Sam assured him.

"Maybe we should get some of the distraction out of the way right now," Peter suggested. He leaned across the counter to give Sam a kiss.

"Good idea," Sam murmured, closing the space between them. He'd only been at it for a few moments when he felt something smack against the back of his head, and he pulled away. "Hey, ow!"

Peter pulled back in confusion. "What happened?"

"Something hit me," Sam said. Looking down, he spotted a small book sitting on the floor, and picked it up, glaring at it.

"Want me to kiss it better?" Peter asked, having no idea this was only going to make the problem worse.

"You can kiss me, and maybe it'll feel better," Sam said, because the head smack had clearly made him a little slow.

Peter moved in to kiss Sam again.

And moved back when something whapped him on the head. "Ow!"

"Are you okay?" Sam asked, looking to see if someone else had snuck into the library when they weren't paying attention."

"Yeah, just got hit," Peter said. He noticed another book that hadn't been there before. "By that."

Sam looked around, but couldn't spot anyone else in the library. "Did you accidentally turn someone invisible?"

"I'd have to be touching them," Peter reminded Sam. "Only person I've been touching is you."

"Here, come behind the desk," Sam said, holding out his hand for Peter.

Peter went to take Sam's hand and go where he suggested.

"We might be better off here," he said, crouching down behind the desk and trying to pull Peter with him.

See, again it was the question of whether or not he'd do something that involved being closer to Sam. Which was to say no question at all.

"If you insist," Peter said, crouching down beside him.

"I do insist," Sam said, leaning in to try to give Peter a kiss again.

That, of course, was when one of the books fell off of the desk, and hit him on the top of his head.

Peter didn't mean to laugh, honest. "Oh man. Are you okay?"

"I don't think I like the library today," Sam said, frowning and rubbing his head.

"Lemme help," Peter said. He went to try to rub Sam's head as well. At which point the library books clearly picked up on the double meaning of that action and whapped Peter on the head again. "Ow!"

Sam barely got to touch Peter before he was hit again, and scrambled backwards away from him. "Okay, I really don't like this."

"Maybe we should wait and try again when we're not near books?" Peter suggested.

"I think that's a good idea," Sam said, rubbing his head. "Do you want to come over tonight? I'm not going to be doing anything."
