P.E./Movie Appreciation: Week 6, Period 1 (Fri 2/13)

When students arrived in the Danger Shop, Ronon was smiling broadly at the larger-than-usual group. The Danger Shop was filled with treadmills all set up facing a large movie screen. Strange, but the professor was up front, ready to explain.

"I brought you all together today for two reasons. One, I have stuff to do and two, half of you were probably gonna ditch to get ready for your dance anyway." Not really, but they weren't getting the really.

"Today we're all gonna watch a foreign film from Germany. That's another Earth country. The movie's called Go Leda Go, and the title kinda gives it all away. She runs. A lot. Since running is something I'm real familiar with, that's your activity. While you watch the movie you will run, but the Germans don't speak your English, so you'll have to read the screen or plug some headphones into your treadmill to listen to the English version if you can't deal. Call it multitasking." (Aww, look at him providing an alternative to reading!)

"P.E. students, enjoy the break from Earth sports. Movie students, you could all use some exercise. Everybody gets a uniform and a treadmill. Go." He crossed his arms, expecting them all to file into the locker rooms that were handwavily over there while he hummed the theme to Baywatch, not realizing what it was or why it was stuck in his head.

Priestly was gonna run on his backwards, just because. But, well, that Leda chick was hot.

He loved the hair.

So he jogged along at a leisurely pace and just enjoyed the way she sounded shouting in a language he didn't know.

"Run in the right direction and run faster," Worf demanded.

"But if I run faster, I'll miss the subtleties of the mellifluous German language." Priestly said.

Then stuck his tongue out at Worf.

"I am your TA," Worf growled. "Do as your told. Additionally it is unsafe."

"Shhhh, I think she's about to yell for her boyfriend to 'warte' again."

"I do not care what she is about to yell at her boyfriend," Worf growled. "Run in the correct manner!"

"But the teacher told us to watch the movie while we run. Watching requires paying the proper amount of attention to things like what she's about to yell at her boyfriend."

At least it was only running and there was no ice water involved this week. John would be thankful for small things like really rhythmic music to run to.

Rodney took the treadmill next to John and walked on it at a rather sedate. It was easier to read subtitles that way. Really.

"Running won't kill you, you know," John said, going at a nice pace on his own machine.

"I don't want my asthma to act up," Rodney lied.

"Rodney, since when are you asthmatic?" John questioned, so not believing him.

"Um," Rodney stalled. "Since always," he tried to make it sound obvious.

There was running! Woo, running! And some chick who had hair as red as his, which was pretty kickass.

Reno turned the treadmill up to its highest setting and started to run, appreciating the movie in spite of all that weird other-languagey stuff.

Best. Class. Ever.

Emmett running steadily on his treadmill. Not, like, inhumanly fast, but he was keeping up a nice pace and not looking too bothered by it.

Seriously, his secret-keeping abilities would make Edward facepalm.

Firekeeper set to running at what was, for her, a pretty leisurely pace, headphones plugged in and playing the dialogue just loud enough to be audible- she wasn't too fond of the idea of being unable to listen to her surroundings. Blind Seer just gave the treadmill a disdainful look and flopped down beside it.

This? So not the way to watch a movie. How were you supposed to concentrate fully if you were trying not to end up on the floor in a heap?

Angela would be running slooooowly.

Gavin got on his treadmill and got a good rhythm going before he finally started paying attention to the movie.

Molly was actually doing more running and thinking than movie-watching, but at least she was clearing her head out nicely. Hopefully there wouldn't be a test on the movie.

Peter didn't mind a jog. It certainly kept things from being boring.

Éowyn was apprehensive about using the machine, and kept her pace slow enough that she was certain she would not fall. She was far less concerned with watching the film.

Re: Action [2/13]

[identity profile] gudspellr-claud.livejournal.com 2009-02-13 03:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Running led to sweating, sweating led to pimples and pimples before a dance was bad. So Claudia was moving as slowly as possible without faceplanting on the treadmill.

This would be Peyton mostly walking on the treadmill while she watched the movie.

There just wasn't a point to running unless you were being chased. Bender kept moving, but wasn't making much of an attempt at speed.
