Study Hall -- Tuesday, October 11th

Sarah leans back in her chair, a dartboard set on the far wall that she's lazily throwing darts at. Almost every one hits the target -- the ones that don't make her scowl and put her in an even worse mood.

There's a sign set up on the desk that says, "Congratulations to the new student council," but every time one of the winners walks into the room, she gives them a nasty glare. She doesn't trust politicians, no matter how young they might be.

Angelus sits down at a free desk with his classwork. He's surprisingly chipper for someone who's seen the election results.

Lily sits down in the desk next to Angelus, and pulls out her notes from last week's Intro to Business class.

Angelus smiles when he sees her. He leans over to whisper. "Did I see right? Are we in the same math class now?"

"I've just signed up for Intermediate Maths, if that's what you're asking," Lily responds.

"Me too," Angelus moved over so they were sitting closer. "Met the prof. Seems like a nice enough guy."

Lily stiffens as Angelus moves closer. She frowns, trying to remember if she should know who he is. Always polite, though, she responds, "yes, I met him Sunday night. It looks to be a good course."

"Maybe we could be study buddies," Angelus smiled at her. "Math's not my strongest subject." Then, with a look of concern, he asked, "Hey, how's Draco doing? You seen him today?"

She relaxes when the pieces fall together. Oh, he's a friend of Draco, of course. "I'm always up for studying," Lily says, smiling at Angelus for the first time. The smile leaves quickly, though. "No, I haven't seen Draco today. I had a phone message from him last night, and we have dinner plans for tomorrow... why?"

Hi, Zero Hopeless-Savage, don't think we've formally met. Can I ask you a question?

Angelus put his pen and paper down. "Okay. Can't promise I'll know the answer."

For someone who has lived for decades with Dru, you wouldn't think this question would perplex him. Yet the look on his face is not unlike someone who has just been told that an elephant has given birth to a typewriter.

"I..." Angelus frowns, clearly trying to do the mental math on this, "...don't know. I suppose you could in theory. Never tried it."

One of my friends was curious about the practicalities of a vampire puppy. You know, as a pet.

"Huh," Angelus leaned forward, clearly both curious and perplexed by the problem. "Well - have to train them not to go outside when it's sunny. Guessing keeping a cat in the house wouldn't be a smart idea. On the other hand you can skip the whole spaying and neutering part, so suppose that's a plus."

A bright pink cat? That surely would have been a sight to see. How is the cat class, anyway? Since the beginning of the term, I have been wondering what it is like to be transmogrified into another form.

Faith walks over to Angelus's desk, standing in front of it. She glares at him.

"Just so you know, I'm blaming you for all of this. It wasn't even my idea! I didn't want to win!"

"Well, it fucking sucks," Faith pouted. "I mean, I'm going to actually have to put in effort! Plus I have a meeting with the student dean guy, and he's a little off."
