Study Hall -- Tuesday, October 11th

Sarah leans back in her chair, a dartboard set on the far wall that she's lazily throwing darts at. Almost every one hits the target -- the ones that don't make her scowl and put her in an even worse mood.

There's a sign set up on the desk that says, "Congratulations to the new student council," but every time one of the winners walks into the room, she gives them a nasty glare. She doesn't trust politicians, no matter how young they might be.

"Me too," Angelus moved over so they were sitting closer. "Met the prof. Seems like a nice enough guy."

[ooc: Not officially, but Angelus knows her b/c Draco told him all about her. Angelus is now taking shameless advantage of this fact.]

Lily stiffens as Angelus moves closer. She frowns, trying to remember if she should know who he is. Always polite, though, she responds, "yes, I met him Sunday night. It looks to be a good course."

"Maybe we could be study buddies," Angelus smiled at her. "Math's not my strongest subject." Then, with a look of concern, he asked, "Hey, how's Draco doing? You seen him today?"

She relaxes when the pieces fall together. Oh, he's a friend of Draco, of course. "I'm always up for studying," Lily says, smiling at Angelus for the first time. The smile leaves quickly, though. "No, I haven't seen Draco today. I had a phone message from him last night, and we have dinner plans for tomorrow... why?"

"Just wanted to be sure he was okay," Angelus said. "Shame he didn't win the election. I voted for him." Angelus looked at her, then gave a gently teasing smile. "And... you don't know who I am, do you? Gosh, I'm sorry." He held out his hand. "Angel. Friend of Draco's."

Lily laughs. "That obvious, is it? I was going to ask Draco about you later... It's nice to meet you Angel - I'm Lily, but you already knew that." She smiles at him as she shakes his hand. "Yes the election results are a bit disappointing, but I know he's been terribly stressed as of late, and he might just appreciate the chance to relax for a bit."

"S'okay," Angelus grinned. "I feel like I've hardly had a chance to meet a lot of people around here either. I've been so busy with schoolwork, and clubs - and now I might even have a girlfriend which - " Angelus held up crossed fingers in the universal sign of somebody hoping for a good outcome. "I'm glad you and Draco are going to spend some time together though. I was thinking of taking him out myself but something tells me I wouldn't look nearly as pretty in a dress as you."

Lily blushes a bit at the compliment and laughs again. "I don't know," she says playfully, "I think you might be able to pull it off - with the right dress of course - a silky little black number... Then again, that might not impress your potential girl."

"I don't have the hips for slinky," Angelus deadpanned. "So where are you two going? You know he is just nuts about you. Talks about you constantly. Don't tell him I said this, but it's kind of cute."

This time, Lily blushes furiously. "Oh, does he?" she asks, trying to sound casual but not really succeeding. "I think we're just going uptown to eat at Deb's - nothing fancy. I'm looking forward to it, though. I really do like him as well." She looks at Angelus, wondering why she was talking so freely with a virtual stranger. "But what about you? Who's your prospective?"

Angelus leaned in, grinning like a schoolboy. "Lisa Cuddy. I'm probably being a total idiot about this. I mean we just went to Homecoming and the one date... which was actually interrupted by zombies so I'm not sure if it counts. But she's nice. Smart. Pretty. Kind. I - I'm babbling, aren't I?"

Lily's eyes light up at Angelus's excitement. "Oh! Lisa is great - we've worked several clinic shifts together. Speaking of people who need to take some time off and relax... I think you would be good for her." Lily smiles encouragingly. "You are babbling, but it's 'kind of cute'" she jokes.

Angelus groaned, covering his face with his hands. "Should've known that was going to come back to haunt me."

He dropped his hands down so he could look at her again. "Okay, it can't get more high school than this so might as well go for the gusto - does she talk about me? At all?"

"Err, I actually haven't had a chance to talk to her since Homecoming as she was busy with Sex Ed Boot Camp last night, but I can do some undercover digging for you next time I see her..." Lily gives an apologetic smile.

"Okay," Angelus sat forward, a grin on his face which might be described as goofy. "But you have to pinky swear to never ever tell her that I asked you. Also tell me what kind of bribes I have to give you so that when you talk about me you use words like 'charming' and 'sophisticated' and not, you know, 'dorky'."

Lily giggled and held out her pinky finger. "Alright, I pinky swear that I won't tell her you asked. As for the bribes..." she paused to consider. "I can't think of anything good right now, so let's just say you owe me one, to be collected at any time. Agreeable?"

"More than agreeable," Angelus held his pinky out in return. "And I mean it about that study buddies thing, by the way. You know, if you're interested."

"Yeah, I'm definitely interested, Angel." Lily smiles. "Meeting you today has been both enjoyable and profitable. I've got to get on to my next class, but I'll see you tomorrow," she said, collecting her books.

"See you tomorrow," Angelus said, pushing back to make room for her and her books. "Tell Draco I said hi."
