Library [01/21]

Sam wasn't about to let a little power outage keep him out of the library. After all, without television or other entertaining electronics, the odds of someone coming in to get a book was a lot higher. At least, that was Sam's hope.

The windows in the library gave him enough light to get by, but he still had flashlights at the desk. A little extra light by which to read was never a bad thing.

"Whatever trouble you get yourself into."

"I don't get into trouble that much," Sam said. Sadly, he actually believed that.

Dean just looked at him.

"I'll get into trouble even less now that we have our tattoos?" Sam suggested.

"So when was the last time you had trouble then?"

"Last period," Sam muttered, before he could stop himself.

That got Dean's full attention and he gave Sammy a sharp look. "What happened?"

"I finally met Chuck Bass in person," Sam replied. "He's every bit as pleasant as I imagined."

Dean scowled. "What did he do?"

"He was annoyed 'cause I questioned his sexual health on the radio," Sam explained. "So he came here to find me, I guess."

"He do or say anything to you I need to know about?" Dean asked.

Sam rolled his eyes a little. "I don't need you to go defend my honor, Dean, don't worry."

"So he did so something?"

"He was just an ass," Sam said. "He was trying to convince me that he's better than us and everyone else."

"Yeah, at being a douche."

"It wasn't a big deal," Sam insisted. "It was just...unexpected."

"He's still a douche."

"Just don't ever expect to convince him of that. It won't work," Sam said.

"I'll settle for convincing him to keep his distance," Dean said.

"He sounded like he wants nothing to do with either of us, for what that's worth."

"That's why he's showing up at your work."

"He said he wanted to know what I look like to avoid me later," Sam explained. "And now I know to avoid him too."

"Like there's not another way of finding out what you look like, like asking around or checking out a yearbook," Dean pointed out. "He just wanted to mess with you."

"He wasn't here for that long," Sam said, trying to downplay things. "And now he's gone. It's fine."

"I don't like it," Dean said.
