The Library

Janet unlocked the library and walked in, setting her laptop down warily behind the desk and trying not to think about Hathor the last time she was in here. She took a drink from her extra-large mug of coffee and started working.

ETA: She popped out a moment later and stuck a note up on the door: "New teachers need to check out the Rules of Conduct and fill out a library card application in blue or black ink, damn it. Please come inside for a form. Thank you."

Parker is surprised, then grins. "Yeah, well. Leave the past behind, right? Look at Marty Blank. So... if you're *really* not part of that party, what was the harm in asking? That's what your buddy Angelus would say, right? You handled it fine, from what I heard."

She looks sympathetic. "Sorry your country's having such a hard time with that guy. Hey, what does Voldemort *mean*, anyway? Mort, death. Volde-- running? Twirling? Making? Meadow? Or is it just his name, and it's not his fault it sounds ... weird?"

Draco looks thoughtful for a moment.

"You know...I really don't know where he got his name. I hope his parents named him that. How stupid would it be if you chose that to be your evil alter ego?"

Parker laughs at the evil alter ego comment. "Someone ought to ask him. Then duck and cover afterwards, I suppose."

She shrugs. "Names have influence, though. Malfoy; bad faith. Draco: dragon. Can't get a coherent image off your name, can you? And Angelus... what's up with that?"
