Care for Magical Creatures; Friday, Period 2 [ 01/09 ].
When the students arrived for their class today, they'd find themselves in just a regular old classroom. But not for long.
"Good morning, younglings!" Minsc, the very large fellow with the scars and the armour and the tattoos and...the hamster...greeted the students boisterously, pounding a fist down on the large desk in front of the blackboard. "Welcome to Care for Magical Creatures! I am your teacher, Minsc, and this is my companion, Boo! In a moment, we shall get started, but at the moment, there is something very important we must do first! These desks! They are evil! They are restrictive! Up! Up out of the desk and quickly, children, we must destroy them entirely and make some proper space in this room!"
"Up, up!" Minsc waved his arms to encourage his students to his feet and, with a great, guttural sort of battlecry, he lifted his foot and kicked it straight into one of the desks. It went flying from the impressive blow, toward the front of the room, smashing into a thousand pieces against the blackboard and settling in a small pile of broken legs and pieces.
"Well? What are you waiting for? Vanquish these desks!"

Discussion -- 01/09.
With more grace than his bulking body might suggest, Minsc stood up, going to the blackboard. He brushed off some sawdust from a few flying chairs, and wrote in big, bold letters: ANIMALS THAT WOULD BE COOL TO TURN INTO. Then he turned back to the class.
"Today," he said, "we will have a discussion on animals that would be cool to turn into and why. Don't just pick any animal! Think about it first! For example, I might immediately think, well! Don't I want to be a giant miniature space hamster like Boo? They are smart, strong, clever and cute! But they also contain fathomless knowledge that would make my weak human brain explode from their power! Not a good transformation!"
"So let us talk! Animals that would be cool to turn into and why! And it is a discussion so feel free to agree and argue and discuss with each other as well! I will just scribble on a list."

Re: Discussion -- 01/09.
"Keepin' up with the bird theme I already got goin' here, there's a kinda creature where I'm from called a Tycoon. Sorta a cousin of the gryphon and hippogriff, you know? It can run, it can fly, it's got resistance to the elements and poisons, that kinda thing." Reno crossed his arms over his chest, making himself comfortable in the cushions. "I wouldn't mind if Fandom decided it wanted to turn me into somethin' like that, yo."
Re: Discussion -- 01/09.
"Gryphons are unkillable by weapons made by man." Unless enchanted. "...where I'm from. But they seem to like to eat people. I don't think that would be very good here."
Re: Discussion -- 01/09.
"Well, maybe not here. Though even somethin' like a Gryphon or a Tycoon won't typically go out huntin' for people to eat, where I'm from. It's usually the nosy explorer types who go trippin' through their nests that set 'em off, you know?" A pause. "If I turned into one of them here, I'd probably eat my ferret. That'd kinda suck."
Re: Discussion -- 01/09.
Re: Discussion -- 01/09.
At least, he was pretty sure they could fly. He wouldn't expect a chocobo to swim across an ocean.
Re: Discussion -- 01/09.
Merlin was just going to go with that. "Like large chickens?"
Re: Discussion -- 01/09.
from the wrong game, but ignore that. "People saddle 'em up and ride 'em. Right now, they're the most reliable form of transportation Gaia's got, since most of our energy sources crashed and burned, yo."Re: Discussion -- 01/09.
Re: Discussion -- 01/09.
Gaia was a wealth of weirdness, really.
Re: Discussion -- 01/09.
"But there are none here?" Merlin almost sounded sad he couldn't actually see one. Even if, with his luck, it would try to eat him.
Re: Discussion -- 01/09.
Because that was just what Fandom needed, really. A giant blue riding turkey or two.
Re: Discussion -- 01/09.
Re: Discussion -- 01/09.
...
That wasn't a pout, dammit.
"Gryphons are still cooler, yo."
Re: Discussion -- 01/09.
Re: Discussion -- 01/09.
It possibly said a great deal about Fandom that Reno didn't think this was terribly unlikely.
Re: Discussion -- 01/09.
Re: Discussion -- 01/09.
"Or maybe I'm thinkin' of a marlin. I dunno. The animals from this place always confuse the heck outta me. Unless it's somethin' normal, like a cat, yo."

"Hard to say really, ain't it? We got reports back where I'm from about a guy actually merging with a bunch'a monsters once, and other reports about monsters that were part clone of the same guy, too. And, I mean, they were still Gryphons or Arimahn or Sahagins, but they were that guy, too. Last time I turned into a Chocobo here, I was kinda different from normal ones- they're usually yellow, I was red. So, I mean, I was still me, but I was a Chocobo, too, yo."
A wee ball of wiggly baby Chocobo Reno puff.
"I figure I'd probably have the wings and claws and beak still, yeah? Maybe not so much the resistance to poison. Probably not somethin' I'd want to test out, I guess."
