BWI Airport, Portalocity Port, Saturday Morning

Spirit's ride to the island had been settled and Adora was trying very hard not to be nervous while she waited for the Fandom transport to arrive. Looking out the airport window, Adora realized she'd never seen so many fleets of vehicles in all her life that weren't involved in some sort of insurrection, and found herself desperately hoping her mother was right about this Earth place being safe from the Horde.

Just the thought of her family calmed Adora and she instinctively reached to touch the Sword of Protection where it was hidden by her hair and clothing, feeling that no matter where she was, she always had a way to contact the people she loved.

Now if only she knew for sure that this room marked "Fandom High" was really where she needed to be. Adora paced the large space as she waited, thinking she couldn't possibly be the only new student journeying to campus in this manner.

[OOC: There is wee ocd coming ready!!]

"Me too," Sookie agreed wearily. "It's been an awful long day. I've never been this far from home before." Nor did she usually have to expend so much effort to keep thoughts out of her head, but that was secondary.

"Bon Temps, Louisiana," she said, gesturing vaguely. Like that would help. "Yours?"

"Sookie," she said, blinking at that. "It's real nice to meet you, Adora. That's a pretty name. Where's Etheria?"

"Oh. Um, no, 'fraid I haven't." Well, there you go. This girl was crazy. Sookie mentally chided herself for being so judgmental, and lowered her shields just enough to see if she could pick anything up from Adora.

Well, at the very east, it seemed like Adora sincerely believed the insanity she was saying. It was kinda like talking to Terry Bellefleur.

"Earth's real safe. Your mama was right. I mean, for the most part. We got our unkindnesses here just like any other place," Sookie said as reassuringly as she knew how.

"Oh, normal stuff," she said carefully. "I mean, not where I'm from -- Bon Temps is real safe -- but people aren't always nice to one another. But so far everyone I've met here today is real sweet."

"Me too," Sookie said carefully, though she wouldn't necessarily call any of these people her friends just yet. She poked a little more into the other girl's head and came across something that surprised her into saying something aloud. "You have a horse?"

"I don't have a horse," she said regretfully. "Wish I did. Where's Spirit now?"

"I'm sure I will," she assured her. If Sookie had known her better, she would have given Adora a hug to calm her anxiousness. As it was, she impulsively reached out to touch her shoulder. "He'll be just fine, don't you worry."
