Ethics [Tuesday, December 16, 2nd period]

"Welcome to your Ethics final," Anakin said, pacing around the Danger Room. "I will provide you with a series of scenarios. Either pull up a seat, " --the simulation generously provided on--"and tell me which of the options you would pick, or choose to try the simulation as a live demonstration and see what kind of consequences your actions would have."

He pressed his lips together. "Try not to die if at all possible."

He consulted the notes in his hand. "Oh, before I forget. If any of you are interested in a service project during the break, I've been in contact with the chief of the Ewok village where the Woklings came from. They are still recovering from a major battle that happened above and on their moon a few years ago and would be very grateful for anyone who would like to go build tree houses for a few days. See me after class for more information."

d) Seriously rethink my life if I'm in charge of a planet-destroying superweapon, because I've clearly made some bad moral choices.

D. Accidentally torture her to death. Destroy planets? How S

There was a hastily and very heavily scratched out blob on the page after that bit. Then the next paragraph down, scribbled down with a little too much emphasis:

Never end up being the kind of person who does that in the first place.

D.

I obviously made some very poor choices in my life if I ended up with a weapon that can blow up a planet. I hope to never be that kind of person.

Firekeeper... really had no idea what to do with this question. Wolves didn't have rebels, only challengers for pack leadership, and her only experience with a human rebel had ended with her stabbing him to death.

"If rebel is wolf, then she should fight the One Female for leadership of pack. If she win, then she is not rebel anymore. If rebel is human, then there is things other than words that can be leading trail to hidden den."

Ender wrote down an a.

Then he stared at the question for a very long time, and struck through his answer.

D: make sure I don't wind up having to make that choice again.

Then he struck that out, too, and left it blank. Except for the strike-outs.

D.

This is impossible for me to fathom. I would never be a person like this who has the power and/or devices to blow up planets. I simple can't imagine.

C.

If that didn't work, well, then he'd switch to A. Lee had some hangups about blowing up planets. It felt like foreshadowing overkill.

D) Real torture works better in the movies. Besides, I like the planet I live on.

He may have missed the point.

B. Because it's just a threat, right?

d). I would use a plant I know of that forces one to tell the truth. If i couldn't access that, I would go to (a). I don't think I could even threaten to destroy a planet.

D) There's other ways of making people talk. If you're too squeamish to do it yourself, toss her in a cold cell somewhere without food. Check back in a few days, and see how committed to her ideals she is then.

B and C were the path to being a Witch, and it didn't matter how much valuable information the girl had. If she wouldn't talk, they'd find another eventually that would.

Agnes sighed and facepalmed. "If it's really that important," she answered, "I'll find a way to pull the information from her mind. But, again, that's not the most important question here. Why are they rebelling? And why do I have a superweapon?"

D. I can't even envision ending up in a situation where I'll be this person in the first place.
