Leadership: Thursday, Period 1, Class 1. (9/4/08)

"Morning everyone," Nathan said. He took a spot at the head of the class. He was, as near darned always, dressed in a suit. "I'm Mr. Petrelli. For anyone here who might be close with my brother Peter, I'm still Mr. Petrelli."

Nathan handed out the syllabus and class rules. "Here's the overview of the class for the semester. Make sure to read it as OOC rules are in there too. Because I'm a lawyer there is the fine print of classes being subject to change at any time.

"Today's class is going to be very easy though. First, I want everyone to introduce themselves with their name and why they're taking the class. Second?"

Nathan sat down behind his desk, looking for all the world like he was done for the day. "Someone needs to be in charge of this class. Let me know if you figure out who that is.

"And Meg? Come see me after class. Thanks."

[ooc: OCD is up! Be sure to read the OOC note as well as the class rules. Thanks!]

"I don't slack. I just...don't like to draw attention to myself." Because that invited comparisons and Meg was pretty sure she wouldn't measure up.

"It's easier in some ways. The spotlight's not all that much fun. That's why I'm here. To try and get away from it." That was a lot easier to admit then her feelings about her mother.

"No," Meg said, a touch defensively. "I'm an excellent tennis player and a damn good skier. I read. A lot. I just happen to like keeping a low profile." Meg wondered briefly what Mr. Petrelli would think if he'd heard her conversation with Ben about careers in basket weaving.

She gave a shrug of her shoulder. "Maybe. It's not like I haven't had the perfect example in front of me all of my life."

"A bit." For Meg, that was a huge admission.

"Does it involve the Secretary of the Navy?" Sometimes her inner smart ass just had to say hi.

"No. Not at all." Meg hoped that was the right answer.

She knew there was only one way to answer that question. "Sure. I can handle it."

Preston was going to laugh his ass off.

"No problem. I'll see you next week then."

And then Meg escaped as quickly as she could.
