Leadership: Thursday, Period 1, Class 1. (9/4/08)

"Morning everyone," Nathan said. He took a spot at the head of the class. He was, as near darned always, dressed in a suit. "I'm Mr. Petrelli. For anyone here who might be close with my brother Peter, I'm still Mr. Petrelli."

Nathan handed out the syllabus and class rules. "Here's the overview of the class for the semester. Make sure to read it ~~as OOC rules are in there too~~. Because I'm a lawyer there is the fine print of classes being subject to change at any time.

"Today's class is going to be very easy though. First, I want everyone to introduce themselves with their name and why they're taking the class. Second?"

Nathan sat down behind his desk, looking for all the world like he was done for the day. "Someone needs to be in charge of this class. Let me know if you figure out who that is.

"And Meg? Come see me after class. Thanks."

For those who haven't taken a Nathan class before: I try to post the night before just before I go to bed. Pings get picked up the next day when work allows as well as when I get home at night. Ping Nathan in the "Talk to Nathan" thread if you want to be sure to get his IC attention.

Now we can all take bets on how good my 1) headache and 2) vision will be tomorrow. :D

"I a-am Hinata, fourteen, a-and a sophomore," she said, wishing that she didn't stutter in this classes especially. "And I a-am taking this c-class because o-one day I w-will be in c-charge of my Clan and w-will need to know how."

"L-Logic dictates that Petrelli-san i-is the leader," Hinata offered meekly. "B-But logic s-saying that d-doesn't necessarily m-mean that he is the b-best leader f-for the class."

Andros

"Hi," Dor said with a wave. "I'm Dor and I'm from a land called Xanth. I took this course because I might... um. End up in government somehow. I figured some leadership skills might be good."

Dor frowned. This sounded like a trick question so he tried a different approach.

"Aren't we all in charge? You know. Taking control of our own... um. Destiny?" he said looking unsure.

Andrew Wiggin

"I'm Ender," Ender said; he was starting to be tired of all the introductions, but this was the last, at least. "I'm here because I'm curious about civilian leadership." And that was the truth. A shot at something.

"I'm called Andros," Andros said, "I'm taking this class because I'm the leader of a special ... um military team back home," he decided that was as close to the truth about him being a ranger that he wanted to get, "and I wanted to learn more about being a leader,"

Agnes Nitt

"My name is Agnes Nitt," she declared, daring Mr. Petrelli to laugh. "I'm here because I'm going to be stuck in a position of leadership whether I like it or not, so I might as well learn how to do it properly."

"Seriously?" Agnes asked. "Is this some kind of trick question, or are you just trying to assert your dominance? Because, really, if you're not in charge, we all might as well leave."

Joan Girardi

"My name is Joan Girardi, I'm a junior, new student and my mom chose my classes so I guess she wants me to learn how to be a leader or something," Joan said.

"The school entrusted him to teach us though," Joan pointed out. "That should count for something, right?"

*hugs you tight*
