Leadership: Thursday, Period 1, Class 1. (9/4/08)

"Morning everyone," Nathan said. He took a spot at the head of the class. He was, as near darned always, dressed in a suit. "I'm Mr. Petrelli. For anyone here who might be close with my brother Peter, I'm still Mr. Petrelli."

Nathan handed out the syllabus and class rules. "Here's the overview of the class for the semester. Make sure to read it as OOC rules are in there too. Because I'm a lawyer there is the fine print of classes being subject to change at any time.

"Today's class is going to be very easy though. First, I want everyone to introduce themselves with their name and why they're taking the class. Second?"

Nathan sat down behind his desk, looking for all the world like he was done for the day. "Someone needs to be in charge of this class. Let me know if you figure out who that is.

"And Meg? Come see me after class. Thanks."

Meg was having a hard time remembering that a lot of the students wouldn't get the same cultural references she did. And that they might not get her sarcasm. "Basket weaving, custodial services, bus driving. Any one of a number of low stress careers."

Ben had never experienced low stress. "Huh," he said. "Sounds kind of boring."

"Some people like it. If they don't want the responsibility, or the stress of being in the spotlight," Meg said. "And while they might sound like boring jobs, they are necessary so someone will have to do them."

"But think of the money to be made on the black market," she grinned. "All you have to do is raid some house decorated in country frou-frou and you'd be all set."

Meg had to laugh as well. "And now we're onto another career path that doesn't involve leadership. Breaking and entering. My mom will be thrilled."
