Leadership: Thursday, Period 1, Class 1. (9/4/08)

"Morning everyone," Nathan said. He took a spot at the head of the class. He was, as near darned always, dressed in a suit. "I'm Mr. Petrelli. For anyone here who might be close with my brother Peter, I'm still Mr. Petrelli."

Nathan handed out the syllabus and class rules. "Here's the overview of the class for the semester. Make sure to read it as OOC rules are in there too. Because I'm a lawyer there is the fine print of classes being subject to change at any time.

"Today's class is going to be very easy though. First, I want everyone to introduce themselves with their name and why they're taking the class. Second?"

Nathan sat down behind his desk, looking for all the world like he was done for the day. "Someone needs to be in charge of this class. Let me know if you figure out who that is.

"And Meg? Come see me after class. Thanks."

"Hm, not sure," Jaina said thoughtfully, looking around. "I don't know everyone yet. I suppose if it had to be done, I could, but I have no desire to lead a class so I'd really rather not have to."

"Why'd you decide to lead your own squadron?" Nathan asked.

She almost smiled, though it wasn't exactly happy. She also wasn't sure how specific she could be anymore without things getting back to Tahiri, who she didn't think was in on everything. "It's a very long story, and not one for class, but it's something that had to be done as a part of a larger plan. That kind of command is something I'm comfortable with, my superior officer wants me to have that experience, and I've got a good team."

"So if this was a squadron instead of a class, would you feel more comfortable taking charge?" Nathan asked.

"Completely," Jaina said immediately. "I'm here to learn, which means while I could do it, I don't have the knowledge to be able to teach it to other people. Yet."

"Would you feel comfortable leading a class after you got more experience?" Nathan asked.

"Possibly. Depends how much experience I get."
