Library [10.12]
Karal and Altra arrived, opened the door, spent a moment staring in open mouthed shock, then turned around and left, heading for the stables.
They returned shortly, Karal with a pitchfork in hand.
He needed it just to clear a path to the desk.
There were thin silvery strands, slippery and bright, everywhere. It was falling from the ceiling in irregular showers, coiling on the bookshelves and coating the chairs.
As Karal scraped it aside, it clung to him, sticking to hands and hair and robes. "This," he muttered, "is worse than the music."
Altra didn't answer. For all that he was an avatar of a god, ancient in both years and wisdom, he was still a cat. Some things were biologically hardwired. Butt in the air, he crouched, then pounced, sending up a cloud of tinsel that whirled through the air, and coated them both liberally as it settled.

Fourth period
Altra was amusing himself by leaping into drifts of it and rolling around, batting it into the air.
In truth, it was making Karal kind of seasick.
Re: Fourth period
That said, he managed to straighten up and actually stop around the main desk, a sweet smelling (http://www.cookingdebauchery.com/cooking_debauchery/2008/01/browned-butter.html) bag in one hand.
"Hello," he said with a tip of an invisible hat, "haven't seen you in ages. Baked. No lunch. Sorry. Schedule."
Beat.
"Are you all right?"
Re: Fourth period
Re: Fourth period
"Chocolate chip and sour cherry."
He gave Altra a quick bow of the head.
"Altra, hello. How are you both?"
Re: Fourth period
Altra nodded back, purring. :We're well. We're confused as to why there's tinsel everywhere, but we're well. And you?:
Re: Fourth period
Then he turned to Altra.
"You're not alone. My plan to do soups, well, let us say it's been scrapped for the day. Other than that I'm, er, mostly well. I'm glad you're both in good health and cheer."

Re: Fourth period
"I've just lost a friend, I think. But I've kept most of the others. And I found out some things from home. And, er, I've got an assignment of sorts that I'm working on.
"What about you? What have you been up to?"
Re: Fourth period
[ooc: I have to go to work :( - SP?]
Re: Fourth period
"Nothing much to tell. I missed something and it upset her and then she decided I wasn't worth her time. Nothing's permanent and such things last least of all."
He scratched at an ear.
"Work from home? Is everything all right?"
Re: Fourth period
Re: Fourth period
"Lots of horrible things happen. At least this one didn't involve anyone being hurt."
He had an odd way of doing it, but he was being positive.
"And if there's ever anything I can do to help with your work, please let me know. Even if it's just bringing by tea and meals for you."

Re: Fourth period
He took the cookie.
"And I like feeling useful."
