Even though what good judgment she sometimes possessed was screaming at her not to do this, Phoebe was on her way to meet Belthazor. He claimed that he could take her to Paris and she was wondering what would happen when he couldn't fulfill his promise.

She shook her head, laughing at herself that she was actually going to meet the boy who could weave such wonderfully pretty lies...but he was drop dead gorgeous so she'd forgive him when he couldn't take the two of them to Paris.

She brushed a strand of hair back behind her ear and sat down on one of the benches where she had agreed to meet up with him.

Belthazor spotted Phoebe waiting for him and walked leisurely toward her, grinning. She didn't believe he could take her to Paris tonight and was she in for a surprise. The question was how to explain it to her when they got there. Telling her he was a demon and it was one of his powers would probably scare the hell out of her and put a damper on any chances to score with her. Then again, he had noted she'd joined that "Wildcrafting" club, so she was either a witch or had a mind open to magic.

Hmm. Her sister Piper had joined the club, too. Were they both possibly witches? And there was a third sister about somewhere, too. Three sister witches? Nah, couldn't be.

Phoebe heard footsteps and turned to see Belthazor walking towards her. She stood up from the bench and turned to face him. She smiled and brushed a hand through her hair.

Yes, she would definitely forgive him for the lie about Paris. Maybe they could do something else tonight. Any time she could spend with this bad boy would definitely be worth it.

"Glad to see you didn't stand me up," she smiled teasingly.

Mmmm. Pretty little thing, even if she was a witch. "Why would I stand up a sure thing like you?" he said. "I promised you Paris, and that's where we're going. You ready?"

Phoebe raised an eyebrow at his asssuredness and she was beginning to wonder if he knew something that she didn't. She smiled at him again and shrugged.

"As ready as I'll ever be for Paris," she said with a knowing smirk.

How far was he going to take this charade?

"It's in the middle of the night there," he said, "but I know plenty of places that are open all night long."

He smirked at her. Boy, was she in for a surprise. "Close your eyes."

Phoebe cocked her head at his request for her to close her eyes and had a brief flash of fear that he was going to kill her -- because, well!! -- but when she looked into his eyes again, somthing told her she could trust him not to harm her.

Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes.

So trusting. That was going to get her killed one day.

He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her against him. After a quick look around -- half the kids in this place seemed to be supernatural, but no sense letting them all know he could be a convenient taxi service -- he shimmered them both to Paris.

"Open your eyes," he said.

Phoebe caught her breath when his arms came around her. She had a brief feeling like she'd come home and then, all too soon he told her open her eyes. She opened her eyes, and then fell against him with a gasp as she saw the Eiffel Tower in front of her.

"Oh my god..."

He grinned slyly. "You didn't believe I could get you here, did you? Welcome to the city of love."

Phoebe turned to look at him, still holding onto him.

"You certainly delivered on one hell of a promise. You're either a witch, a demon or one very powerful mutant."

She looked around her in awe and then looked at him.

"Do we have time to wander around and explore?"

Bring a girl to France and she was putty in your hands. "We're already off campus and breaking curfew in a major way, so there's no reason why we shouldn't go ahead and look for some more trouble," he said with a smirk. "Anywhere you want to see? I know a few all-night clubs we can get into, too."

Phoebe grinned and shook her head.

"Clubs later, I want to explore."

She started walking towards the Eiffel Tower, tugging on his hand.

"There are no words to describe the wow factor of all of this, Belthazor."

He let her lead, walking toward the Tower. "You'll have to find some other way to thank me then," he said slyly. "Wanna go up to the top? It's closed but I can get us up there."

Definitely his kind of girl. "Seize the moment," he said in agreement. "Carpe diem." Or carpe demon, as the case were.

Phoebe turned around in his arms to look at his face. She stared into his eyes for a long moment and then nodded.

"Yes, seize the moment...ride the ride...enjoy the feelings..."

I wonder if the penthouse in that hotel over there is empty, he mused, looking across the city. Or I suppose we could just shimmer back to the dorms, but Lindsey might be there. He'd probably complain about the noise. The education might be good for him, though. Heh.

He gave the choice to her. "Where do you want to go?" he asked, touching his hand to her cheek.

Phoebe leaned into his hand, loving the feel of his hand against her skin.

"I could be dumb and dopey and say anywhere as long as it's with you...but somehow, I don't think that sentiment works for you." She smiled slightly. "So what I will say is that I want to go to a spot by the river, where trees cast deep shadows and the moon shines on the water."

Her words were probably meant to conjure romance, but his hearing was selective. Outside...oh, the adventurous type. Element of risk...discovery...nice.

"By the river?" He looked in the direction she was gazing. "That looks nice. I think that can be arranged."

Her words had less to do with romance than with some place comfortable to sit. Besides, she had heard stories of what sometimes happened on the banks of the river and she was curious as to whether it was true or not.

"Can it?"

He smiled at her, then put his hand over her eyes and shimmered them to the river's edge. "Just like that," he said, taking his hand away.

Phoebe grinned at him as she walked to the edge of the water and looked around. She sat down on the grass and smiled.

"This is so perfect. You're like a genie or something."

He sat down next to her and put his arm around her shoulders. "Or something. Maybe I'm an evil demon just trying to seduce you," he said teasingly.

Phoebe laughed and leaned against him for a moment before pulling away in case he wasn't wanting her that close right now.

"And how do you know I'm not a demon who has been hired to seduce you?"

Why did she pull away? Was she changing her mind? He eased closer to her again.

He chuckled at her words. She wasn't a succubus because he already knew from her kiss that her tongue wasn't razor sharp. "Well, if you are," he said, "I want to find out who hired you and thank them."

Taking his moving closer as an invitation, Phoebe leaned against him, making herself comfortable against him.

"Well see, I'm not allowed to divulge that information. It would take extreme duress or torture to gain the name of my employer."

She was struggling desperately to keep a straight face.

"Besides, what kind of demon would I be if I told you all of my secrets?"
