Library [10/30]

Sam was in the library a little earlier than usual, taking the time to actually enjoy his coffee, instead of trying to inhale it. Today's project, he decided, was going to be checking the library shelves for "missing" books.

Well, all the shelves outside of Special Collections, of course. He didn't want to go missing as well.

Sam started in the non-fiction section, figuring it would take less time there to notice books that were out of place.

It was hard for Sam to resist picking up some of the books he was noticing in their proper place, but he managed it for now.

Sam made his way into the next section of books, and straightened them up as he walked around.

Sam did stop long enough for lunch, and had candy for Dean if he came by.

Dean came in at the usual time and dropped into his chair. "So trick or treating tomorrow," he began.

"We're still taking Grace out?" Sam asked. "We'll get plenty of candy that way."

"That's the plan. Alec's tagging along -- he missed out last year. Is Peter coming too?"

"I don't know, I didn't realize he was invited," Sam said.

"We've always gone in a group before," Dean pointed out.

"I don't know how Peter feels about Halloween. He might think the whole thing's stupid," Sam said.

"Well, there's an easy way to find out -- ask him," Dean said reasonably. "Though if he does think it's stupid, we may need to have words."

"You know you're not going to be able to dress up next year when you're out hunting, right?" Sam asked, and boy did that thought bug him more out loud.

Dean shrugged. "Wasn't like we got to dress up before we came here either," he said. "I'll take what I can get."

Fourth Period [10/30]

Sam had a feeling he wouldn't get much done this period, but he still headed back into the stacks anyway.

When Sam heard the doors open, he peeked his head out from behind the shelves and grinned when he saw Peter. "Hey," he said.

"Hey." Peter smiled when he saw Sam. "Hope you're not hiding on me."

"Well, I was thinking about it, but I guess that would be mean," Sam teased, coming out to the desk.

Peter handed over coffee and donuts. "After last weekend I wouldn't blame you."

"Hey, last weekend was just a temporary setback," Sam said, grabbing the coffee and taking a sip. "We just have to give your mom some time, that's all." He might not have fully believed that, but he did believe it was what Peter needed to hear.

"It was a lot at once," Peter admitted. "In hindsight I should've broken it down more."
