Library [10/23]

Sam was in the library a little early today, making a list of all the things he wanted to talk about with Missouri when she visited for the weekend. Whether or not she thought he'd be dying at the hands of Angela Petrelli in the future was not on the list, but the closer the weekend got, the more he wondered if it should be.

"I like your brains," Peter said. He paused, thinking about it. "That sounded more romantic than zombie-like in my head."

"I assumed you meant it in the romantic way," Sam said, giving Peter another soft kiss.

"Absolutely," Peter said, kissing back. "So you got anyone coming this weekend?"

"Yeah, Missouri's coming to see us again," Sam said happily.

"You sound excited about that," Peter said.

"I am, amazingly enough. There aren't many people who have stuck with my family though everything, you know? So the few people we've got mean a lot," Sam said. "Plus, she always puts Dean in his place a little, and that's fun to watch."

"Then I'm glad for you," Peter said. "Ma's coming down."

"Yeah, I know. Nathan came to warn me earlier," Sam replied.

"Oh did he?" Peter asked. He realized he might need to have a chat with his older brother.

"He wanted to make sure I wasn't planning on telling her we're sleeping together," Sam said. "I assured him I'm not suicidal, so I think we're okay for now."

Peter facepalmed. "I am so sorry. He means well, honest."

"I know he does. And now I know how to get him to like me," Sam said. "It wasn't a bad conversation, I swear. I think it could have been a lot worse."

"Still, I will make it up to you," Peter told him. Then, looking hopeful, he added, "Even more if you don't mind me telling her we're dating?"

"I wanted to leave it up to you," Sam said. "If you want to tell her, I'm fine with that. If you want me to be there when you do it, I will be. If you want me far away, I can be somewhere else. Whatever you want."

"Not sure yet," Peter admitted. "Depends on how the weekend goes. You okay with playing it by ear?"

Sam smiled. "Totally. Just let me know. I want this to go well."

"You really are the best boyfriend," Peter told him. He leaned over the counter to give Sam another kiss.

Sam looked proud as he leaned in and kissed Peter back. "Takes one to know one," he replied.
