Library [10/09]

Sam had more coffee with him than was possibly necessary as he went to open the library. He was thinking about Homecoming, and how his excitement about possibly getting to go with Peter was balanced out by worrying about who might come back to visit. It was definitely going to be a day of reading to distract himself from thinking about that more.

"I think I can agree to those terms," Peter said.

Sam grinned. "By the way, did I tell you what a good job you did at dinner?" he asked. "You really did come off as the perfect boyfriend. Not to mention keeping me from killing Dean or Alec."

"You really think I did a good job?" Peter asked. "Not that Dean and Alec didn't make it easy, but still."

"Even if they hadn't been there, you would have been amazing," Sam said.

"I bet you say that to all your boyfriends," Peter teased.

"I don't know, you're the only one I've had so far," Sam said. "If you keep this up, you're going to ruin me for other guys."

"I don't think you're going to get other guys," Peter told him. He reached over the counter to take hold of Sam's shirt. "I have a problem with that."

"Oh really?" Sam asked, managing to keep a straight face as he looked down at Peter's hand. "And why's that?"

"It implies I'm letting you go," Peter said. "Not gonna happen."

"Surely you'll want to let go at some point," Sam said, unable to keep from smirking a little as he teased.

"Naaaaaah," Peter said. "I'm too greedy."

"Does that mean I can be greedy too? And keep you from going to anyone else?" Sam asked, putting his hand on Peter's arm.

"Absolutely," Peter told him. "It's only fair."

"At least you're fair. I can't complain," Sam said, bringing his hand down to try to stroke his fingers over the inside of Peter's wrist.

Peter was not minding that kind of contact at all. "So are congratulations in order?"

"Congratulations for what?" Sam asked.

"Your audition," Peter said. "'course I'm not sure what result you'd want congratulations for, but that's why I asked."

"I made the team," Sam said, laughing. "I'm not sure if I want to be congratulated or not yet either. But I am, as promised, blaming you."

"I accept my responsibility and will find some way of making it up to you," Peter said. "Though, as promised, I didn't watch."

"I appreciate that. Now you have a lot more not to watch," Sam replied.

"You realize this is going to be difficult for me, right?" Peter asked. "Because you're telling me to plan time out of my day when I am deliberately not looking at you."

"You want to look at me acting embarrassing?" Sam asked.

"They didn't think you were embarassing," Peter pointed out.

Sam thought about that for a second and realized Peter probably had a point. "You just want to see me in the uniform," he teased.

"I'm not picky," Peter teased back. "I'm totally fine for seeing you out of it too."
