Library, Friday

So there was a big mysterious island full of robots and stuff about tournaments and at first Buffy thought she'd skip out on the library to go over there again and see what needed taking care of. Then she realized that the library was exactly where she needed to be. You know, let them do the research, then figure out what needed to die. Easy.

Strange things afoot meant Karal went to the library as soon as class was finished. Not only because it was the only place likely to hold any information on what was happening, but because - lacking a Temple - it was the most comforting place he could be.

He followed Altra to the books on the island's history, selected the oldest ones he could find, and returned to set up at one of the tables. Altra perched over the book while Karal flipped the pages, and in lieu of notes he spoke quietly into his recorder.

Annja had spent the morning going through books and scanning her usual alt dot sites when she stopped for a moment and re-read what she had just found.

"Hey... I think I may have found something," she said to anyone who was within earshot.

Karal sat up very straight as Altra's head whipped around. "You have?" he asked. Thank Vkandis.

She looked up on direction of the voice.

"I think so. It's a little cryptic, though." She looked back down at what she was reading. "This book is talking about a red sky and two islands. There seemed to be one island that was always around... and then there was a ... something with lava endangering the island." She paused, skimming some more. "Another island suddenly appeared and the people on the island were moved somewhere before the island... disappeared."

She looked at him. "It sounds like these two islands. I mean how many weird twin sets of islands could there be?"

"Hopefully only the one." He hadn't turned his recorder off, and he decided to let it run. "Is there anything else?" he asked, frowning as he turned the words over in his mind.

She frowned, looking back down. "Not that I can see. It just talks about the lava almost taking over the island and the rescue..."
