Library, Friday

So there was a big mysterious island full of robots and stuff about tournaments and at first Buffy thought she'd skip out on the library to go over there again and see what needed taking care of. Then she realized that the library was exactly where she needed to be. You know, let them do the research, then figure out what needed to die. Easy.

[Research team, ho! Um, not that I just called you names or anything.]

Tosh knew there was something strange going on, so she headed to the library, hoping there was something she could do to help figure out what was going on.

She could handle a little research. She was good with books. That's why she was currently going through some of the books she had gathered.

Since her own stack of books seemed to be producing nothing and honestly just giving her a headache, Mac turned to Tosh hopefully. "You getting anywhere?"

Tosh was still leafing through the contents of the book in front of her. "Not yet. Hopefully there's something in one of these books."

"You'd think, library this size, there'd be something at least," Mac remarked, flicking over a page in her own book.

Tosh didn't find anything in that book, so she grabbed another and began to read. It seemed to be a journal of some kind. "Hmmm, that's interesting. I think I may have found something in this journal."

She pushed it over to Mac so she could get a good look. "It looks quite old. There's something in here about a text explaining the history of Fandom and of its sister islands."

Mac abanodoned her own book, to lean over and check out the pages Tosh was indicating.

"Sister islands," Mac muttered. "Of course a place this weird couldn't just be a one off."

She paused a moment, running her finger down the page to find the part that had been mentioned. "We should look that book up, see if it's in the library somewhere. That could definitely be useful."

"It must be here somewhere if it was donated," Tosh added. "Perhaps that text has all of the answers we're looking for."

Mac nodded, still looking over the page.

"Something that old wouldn't be in the library itself," she told the other girl. "That's more a special collections sort of deal." At that she pulled a face.

"Oh? Special Collections sounds quite intriguing," Tosh said, trying not to geek out too much.

"If you're into creepy sentient libraries, sure," Mac replied.

"It's where all the seriously old, dangerous and downright freaky books get kept."

"Well then," Tosh said curiously. "Guess it'll be an adventure."

"If you say so," Mac said, obviously not with quite the same enthusiasm for special collections.

"I prefer my libraries, like normal libraries. Quiet and without too many surprises."
