Phys Ed: Week 3, Period 2 (9/19)

When students entered the Danger Shop this week, rather than a gym, they would find themselves transported to a lush green hillside. With a whole bunch of sheep.

As usual, Ronon started talking when he felt like it. "Okay, today you'll work with a partner to shear some sheep. Mc-my teammate said this is a traditional gym class for the Scottish people. Call it cultural gym or somethin.'" Ronon gestured to an area with all the necessary equipment for the process. "Grab some tools and some instructions and get started."

Ronon stopped himself from turning away. "Don't forget to dress out. Locker rooms are right behind you." Ronon himself was again wearing his standard leather ensemble.

"So it's a pig, but it's a sheep. Are all animals where you come from mish-mashed?" he asked, guessing alternate universe. It happened a lot.

"Okay, it does sort of look like a pig crossed with one of these 'sheep' things," Sokka admitted, "but that doesn't make it a mish-mash! It's just a NORMAL animal, where I'm from. YOUR animals are the weird ones!"

He wasn't even going to BEGIN to get into how wrong the penguins here were.

"So your animals are the normal ones and ours are just half-a-normal-animal?" he asked fairly innocently.

Sokka crossed his arms and nodded. That got a protest from the sheep, which had managed to get its leg in the way of the electric shears. "Yup, that's right. At least, from my perspective." Again, not going to mention the penguins.

"Any dodos? Or dodo-penguins?" The sheep struggled for a moment, but Friday held onto it tightly.

"We have penguins," Sokka told him, "but they're way different from your penguins. They're bigger, and have four flippers, and whiskers. Penguins should not have beaks, okay?"

"No beaks," he said, not really agreeing, but not wanting to argue. "But no dodos?"

"You're a dodo," Sokka countered, because his mun couldn't remember if there were or not.

"And to think we started the class with you thinking my name was cool. Now I'm a dodo?"

"Your NAME is still cool," Sokka informed him. "I'm just not sure you're worthy of it, if you keep making fun of my animals."

"I wasn't making fun of them!" he protested, except how he totally was making fun of them. "And if I'm a dodo, then you're a penguin. With a beak." Seriously, that was all he could come up with at short notice.

"Seriously? That's all you could come up with?" Sokka shook his head and tsk-tsked. "You'll have to do better than that."

"Pigsheep?" He had to bite his lip not to laugh. "Dragonllama? Hippowalrus."

"You're just making stuff up!!!" Sokka protested.

"Ninjashark!" he countered.

Sokka grinned. "That. Would be. So. AWESOME!!! Even more awesome -- ALMOST -- than Ninja Turtles!"

"Pfft, turtles can't be ninjas, they're far too slow. Now sharks. All those teeth and being all stealthy in the water? I know I'd be afraid."

[identity profile] sarcasm-guy.livejournal.com 2008-09-20 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
"Dude, we had Ninja Turtles HERE, and they were AWESOME!" Sokka insisted. NO ONE was gonna get away with dissing Mikey. "You just forgot, because you were a baby then."

Friday stared, trying to decide whether Sokka was making it up or not. "Turtles, seriously?"

"You've been in Fandom HOW long?" Sokka asked. "Have you seen Bumblebee? Robin-the-frog? Seriously, there were three people-sized turtles who were brothers. And ninjas. And liked pizza."
