Buffy had pretty much ignored the radio this week, and she hadn't been very social, so the kitten book thing had kind of escaped her notice. And here she was, all set up in the library and sort of bored already.

However, this was Buffy, and she'd probably never read for fun ever, so the odds of her actually getting in on the phenomenon weren't all that great.

"Hello and welcome to the Fandom High library," Buffy said from where she was tossing away two halves of what used to be a pencil. "Our kittens kick ass."

"Dude, that's awesome," Hurley says. "That's even better than robots."

She raised her eyebrows, not sure what he was talking about and yet not putting anything past this town. "Robots?"

"There's robots. Or at least, I've met a robot. He's cool, and stuff. And bright yellow," Hurley said.

"Huh," she said slowly, still trying to get used to this whole thing. This was not supposed to be normal. Seriously. "But he wasn't all demony or anything, right?"

"I don't think so?" Hurley said. "I mean, I wouldn't know demony if I saw it. Or if it, like, sat down next to me."

"I'm thinking you probably would," Buffy said. "But hey, if you haven't noticed, that's a very good sign!"

"Yeah, I'm... kinda new, and kinda, like, normal," Hurley said. "So, uhh, hi. I'm Hurley."

"Buffy," she said. "And yeah, I'm new and normal too." Big liar. "It's taking some getting used to."

The only part that took some getting used to was the fact that everyone was used to this.

Hurley nodded. "Yeah. But it's kinda cool. Everyone from space and stuff."
