Buffy had pretty much ignored the radio this week, and she hadn't been very social, so the kitten book thing had kind of escaped her notice. And here she was, all set up in the library and sort of bored already.

However, this was Buffy, and she'd probably never read for fun ever, so the odds of her actually getting in on the phenomenon weren't all that great.

She was sitting at the desk, idly playing with the little paper wrapper holder thingie (what were those called? Did they have a name?) on her coffee cup. Yes, thrilling heroics going on here.

Okay, it didn't take long for her to start perusing the stacks just to find something out of place or that needed to be shelved. So it was a happy thing that she found one martial arts book laying atop the others, and she had to flip through it just so she could see the pictures and tell them they were doing it wrong.

Too bad it turned into a tiny little hiiii-yah!ing kitten trying out some ninja moves. Oops.

Buffy and the karate kitten had moved back to the desk, where she was entertaining herself by holding out pencils and watching the kitten break them with its paw. It was kind of cool, okay?

She'd been planning on getting out for a while, running to JGOB or something. But as she was getting up to go, that was when she saw a couple more kittens heading her way from the stacks. She couldn't just leave them right? At least not yet.

There were more than just three kittens at the desk now, all adorable and literary-themed, and Buffy as just really glad she wasn't allergic.

Most of the kittens by now were napping, and the others just seemed nice and lazy, so Buffy decided she wouldn't have too big a problem leaving them. Too bad a couple would totally end up following her out anyway.

I'm so tired, guys, omg.

*douses you with water*

KARATE KITTEN. <3

Hurley came into the library, and instead of asking a question, he ended up just sort of mesmerized by the karate kitten demonstration.

"Hello and welcome to the Fandom High library," Buffy said from where she was tossing away two halves of what used to be a pencil. "Our kittens kick ass."

"Dude, that's awesome," Hurley says. "That's even better than robots."

She raised her eyebrows, not sure what he was talking about and yet not putting anything past this town. "Robots?"

"There's robots. Or at least, I've met a robot. He's cool, and stuff. And bright yellow," Hurley said.

"Huh," she said slowly, still trying to get used to this whole thing. This was not supposed to be normal. Seriously. "But he wasn't all demony or anything, right?"

"I don't think so?" Hurley said. "I mean, I wouldn't know demony if I saw it. Or if it, like, sat down next to me."

"I'm thinking you probably would," Buffy said. "But hey, if you haven't noticed, that's a very good sign!"

"Yeah, I'm... kinda new, and kinda, like, normal," Hurley said. "So, uhh, hi. I'm Hurley."

"Buffy," she said. "And yeah, I'm new and normal too." Big liar. "It's taking some getting used to."

The only part that took some getting used to was the fact that everyone was used to this.

Hurley nodded. "Yeah. But it's kinda cool. Everyone from space and stuff."
