Library [09/11]

When Sam arrived at the library, it was still fairly early, and he'd only managed to get a little caffeine into his blood stream. He started checking in the returned books first, and was surprised to find a children's book in among the rest. He set it aside, intending to flip through it before putting it back where it belonged, and he'd barely had time to yawn and move onto the next book when he heard mewing, and glanced over to find one--no, two gray kittens, a red kitten, and a blue kitten perched on the desk looking at him.

That was when he finally remembered there was supposedly something funky going on with the books. Oops.

"Oh yeah, that's exactly what I need - you at the door trying not to look suspicious," Sam said.

"Please," Dean said offended. "I can blend!"

"Late at night when there's no one else around?" Sam asked.

"If I had to."

"The doors aren't soundproof, you know," Sam pointed out. "You'd end up listening to us."

"Well," Dean said trying to sound innocent.

"Dude, no," Sam said quickly. "If--IF it happens, we can listen for ourselves."

"Whatever you say dude," Dean said, leaning back in his chair. "I'm sure the squirrels will document it for prosperity anyway."

"They didn't know about me and Dawn," Sam said, looking smug.

"Yeah, but you just gave it all away with a look, dude," Dean said.

"Only because I can't lie to you," Sam said.

"True."

"Jerk," Sam shot back. "Don't you dare tell anyone about this."

"Now would I do that?"

"Yes, yes you would."

"Relax Sammy," Dean told him. "I'm not about to drop it in the middle of a radio broadcast or anything."

"Good, because then I'd have to kill you," Sam said.

"You'd never kill me," Dean said with easy confidence.

"I'd get really angry, and possibly a little violent," Sam amended.

"Not like I haven't been bitchfaced before," Dean said. "But dude, you know I'd never embarrass you like that."

"You like to embarrass me sometimes," Sam pointed out. "That would be a good way to do it."

"Not to the whole school," Dean said. "Then I'd have to beat up people who made fun of you and that's just creating way too much work for me."

Sam rolled his eyes. "You don't have to beat anyone up for me, Dean."

"If they traumatize you by making fun of you, then yeah I have to," Dean said. "It's in the big brother handbook."

"But it's okay if you do it?" Sam asked.
