Phys Ed: Week 1, Period 2 (Fri. 9/5)

When students arrived, they would find the Danger Shop was set up like a traditional gymnasium, complete with a changing rooms and really high ceilings.

Most of the gym floor was covered in thick, blue mats, with the enormous, body sinking type mats stacked underneath three ropes that dangled from the ceiling. Next to these ropes stood a giant of a man who also happened to be the gym teacher.

"My name's Ronon Dex. You'll call me Sir." Ronon smiled as he looked around at his students, noting familiar faces and cataloging new ones. "Okay, first class gets the intro thing, but only after you introduce yourself to the rope." He gestured the thumb of one fist toward the three ropes in question, which students would note differed only in how many knots were tied in them and how high up on the rope lay a wide red line. "Climb to the red line and slide back down." Ronon grabbed hold of the rope with his large hands and swung himself quickly up to the top moving hand over hand until he touched the red line. Sliding most of the way down quickly, Ronon leaped back to the ground and wiped his hands on his leather pants.

"Easy enough, but first I'm told you need a uniform. You've got five minutes." Ronon crossed his arms, expecting them to move, and fast.

[someday I'll figure out the date *facepalm*]

"Hannibal King," he said, smiling at the class, "and I'm a junior. My favorite sport's anything physical so...football. Let's go with that. Oh, but I do have a soft spot for synchronized swimming." That was a lie. "The noseplugs are so sexy. As for something about me, I got stuck at the top of a rollercoaster once for hours because the ride broke down. I took a nap."

"I'm Lois Lane," she said, smiling at the cute teacher. "My favorite sport is football because tackling people is fun and, well, it's early and I'm tired so I'm just going to go the easy route and share that I'm an army brat."

She hadn't shared that this week so it wasn't cheating.

"Gwen Cooper, I'm a junior," she said. "My favourite sport is rugby, and one thing I haven't revealed about myself this week is the belief that these uniforms are a crime against humanity or anyone with eyes."

"Kaylee Frye," she said cheerfully, waving. "I don't really got a favorite sport. But I like games! An' um, something I ain't shared is that my favorite color is pink!"

Well, she hadn't shared that in class, anyway.

"My name is Sokka," he said, preening a bit. "My favorite sport is... uh. Football. And.... You know what? I don't think I've mentioned all week that I'm a crack shot with a boomerang. Like, seriously awesome."

"My name," Turtle said, finally down from the rope and rubbing her bottom a little because, sure enough, she did fall, but thankfully, it was only a few feet from the floor, "is T.R. Wexler, more commonly known as Turtle. Since I don't think most people would count playing the market the same as playing a sport, I'm going to go ahead and say soc-- football's my favorite, because the EuroCup was fun to watch."

And, let's see, something she hadn't told anyone yet this week. Well, she hadn't, surprisingly, mentioned it in class yet, so Turtle figured it was okay to go ahead with the usual, "I co-own Turtle & Canary in town, actually, so if you ever need anything at all for very reasonable prices, you should go and check it out!"

His pride was a bit battered, and when the time came he rushed through his introduction. "Friday Next, junior, croquet. Um," he struggled with the last one. "I can peel a banana with my feet." It seemed like a good idea to share it at the time.

"Humans is calling me Blysse," Firekeeper said. "Favorite sport is..." here, she frowned. She hunted, and she knew from experience hunting was a sport in Hawk Haven, and perhaps other places. But hunting was a necessity, not a pleasurable afternoon outing. So not a sport. "Wrestling. With him," she jabbed a thumb towards the large wolf by her side. She grinned fiercely as she got to the last item, because bragging comes easily to wolves. "I is leading wolf-pack of my own, back home."

Cassandra thought for a moment before nodding to herself.

"My name is Cassandra. I like the sport where they hit things." Baseball? Croquet? It wasn't really clear there.

"I can read." That last was said with pride.

"Ichigo Kurosaki. Um... My favourite sport is karate," he decided after a brief pause. Not that he'd been keeping up with it, but he liked it better than other sports. "I don't like noise people." Please ignore where he was one himself.

"Hey, I'm Summer Roberts, I'm a senior, and I guess water polo." Summer didn't care about sports. She just chose the one that was popular at her old school. "Um...my dad's a plastic surgeon."

After the ropes, Francine would frankly like to have sunk quietly into a puddle on the floor, possibly crying I'm melllllllting on her way to oblivion, possibly not.

Since that didn't seem to be an option, she settled for not making a lot of eye contact as she said, "I'm Francine Peters. My favorite sport is--" Anything somebody else is doing. "--Um. I liked watching the men's Olympic swimming this year? And...I don't know if there's anything interesting about me to share. I like chocolate?"

Because that wasn't obvious.

"I'm Eve Levine and I'm a senior. Favorite sport's hockey." She frowned for a second. "Something I haven't shared this week... I'm actually dead and I have no idea where my body got buried."

Sad thing? It was even true!

"I'm Rodney McKay and my favorite sport is curling," he lied. "Something I haven't shared is that I have an unusually high heart rate," he hoped this might get him out of some of the more strenuous activities.

"I'm Dick Grayson and my favorite sport is gymnastics." Dick thought about mentioning the circus thing because that was always a crowd pleaser, but he had mentioned that on Sunday. Fine. On a related note... "When I was a kid, I was friends with a few elephants."
