Library [09/04]

Sam was glad to be back in the library, even if he was going to have to get used to being there on Thursdays. Wanting to make a good impression on the new librarian, he got to the library early to get everything set up long before he opened the doors to everyone else.

Sam was on his best behavior during first period, focusing on finishing his coffee and organizing the desk so everything was where he liked it.

Sam finally gave in to the need to check his e-mail and clear out the junk.

Sam went into the stacks and came back to the desk with a book he thought would get him through the rest of the day.

Sam figured he could close the library for lunch, but he decided not to in the end, in case anyone wanted to use the time to come by.

Just because classes were over for the day, it didn't mean Sam was going to leave. He was back at the desk with his book, glancing over to the door every once in a while like he was waiting to see if someone would stop by.

Sam made a sweep through the library to make sure everything was cleaned up before he closed up for the day.

Yay it's almost Friday!

Peter came in at the usual time with donuts and coffee. "Hey."

"Hey," Sam said, smiling and marking his page in his book. "You remembered."

"It's a little freaky," Peter admitted. He put the coffee and donuts down on the counter. "It's throwing my whole week off."

"You'll just have to learn to adapt with me," Sam said, taking his coffee.

"I prefer blaming you and taking shameless advantage of this for favors instead," Peter replied. He grinned in that way annoying little brothers could do.

Dean came in with food and took his usual seat. "So that Jess kid is a total ass."

"Did you run into him?" Sam asked. "Tell me you got to throw him in some kind of body of water, because that was kind of cathartic."

"Oh, I see how it is," Sam said, laughing. "What kind of favors?"

"I'll let you know," Peter said, trying to look mysterious. He sipped his coffee. "So how's it going?"

Sam resisted the urge to roll his eyes at Peter's mysterious look, and shrugged. "I'm okay. I like my classes so far."

"They're appropriately geeky enough for you?" Peter asked.

Indiana entered the library not long after it opened up and gave Sam a friendly nod. "Morning," he said in greeting. "You must be Sam. I'm Dr. Jones."

"They're not all geeky. I'm taking cooking," Sam said defensively.

Sam looked up from where he was organizing all the pencils, and smiled. "Hi. It's nice to meet you," he said. "Have you been settling in all right?"

"What'd you make me?" Peter replied.

"Getting there," he said shifting slightly. "Not to sound like a broken record but this isn't exactly the place or job I thought it would be."

"We just did introductions yesterday," Sam said. "When we actually start cooking, I'll be sure to make enough to share with you if you're feeling brave."

"What day do you have it?" Peter asked. "So I know when to nag you."
