"Hi, Ino," he said, happy to see her. "And no, I'm doing okay this time around. No urges to flee the scene."

"Unless you want to." But she didn't think he would.

"Is that your doing?" he asked, looking around at all the shirtless people. "I'm not...sure if I should or not."

"A lot of it is?" Ino admitted. "And some of it's Dojima-san's doing, and some of it's just guys that'll do it anyway. If you did, you'd get me two extra points, though I'm pretty sure I'm winning by a lot already, but it's up to you."

Ned, unlike Ichigo, got a choice. Ino liked Ned better than Ichigo.

"You might lose points if I take my shirt off," he laughed.

She eyed him for a moment. "Well," Ino said, "if that's the way you feel, I have to tell you that the points are just for the shirt taking off. Not for any actual appearance."

"Though I don't think you would, really. Lose points, I mean."

He reached for the hem of his shirt, told himself that this was not a bad thing and then just wriggled out of it.

"So?"

"Not bad," she decided. Not the best she'd seen today, by far, but not bad.

"I met a girl who works in a funeral home," he said, "and another girl who was talking about sunflowers and not losing my ears."

"I think me not losing my ears," he said and patted one ear just to make sure. "It was something with the sunflowers."

"I hope so," he said, "because I spent some of my childhood living near a sunflower field and I would like to keep my ears."
