Sam was still thinking about Destiny and Free Will class as he headed to the library. There were times that class really made him wonder if he was worrying enough about the future, and today was no exception. He was so caught up in thinking, he'd even forgotten to get coffee before starting his day.

"So don't have the chick flick moment then," Sam said, before sighing softly. "My Monday class just gets me thinking about things sometimes, that's all."

"That's never good," Dean observed.

"It's a good class," Sam insisted. "Really good and interesting."

"I don't like things that make you look like you did when I came in," Dean told him.

"It just makes me think about destiny. Like my destiny," he admitted. "It's not a big deal, I'm just thinking."

"This is about the whole psychic visions, demon has plans for you thing again," Dean said, more a statement than a question.

"It's hard to not think about it sometimes," Sam said. "But it's not a big deal."

"You're right," Dean said. "Because whatever freaky things your head does, you're still Sammy, my geeky little brother. That's not going to change."

Sam rolled his eyes. "I meant it's something you don't need to worry about, because it's my problem."

"Your my brother," Dean said slowly as if not sure he was using words that are too big. "That makes your problems my problems."

"It's my problem that I think about it so much," Sam said. "There's nothing you can do to change how my brain works like that."

"I haven't figured out how to stop you having visions yet, no," Dean admitted. "Though the fact they've saved my life and others' lives sorta prove they're not as bad as you fear. But I can damn well do my best to stop you brooding about stuff that ain't gonna happen."

"You don't know it's not going to happen," Sam said, picking at his burger.

"I know me, and I know you," Dean said. "That means there's some things that just aren't in the cards."

"Even if every card says the same thing about what's going to happen to me?" Sam asked.

"Dude, we're Winchesters," Dean said, grinning and spreading his hands. "We cheat at cards."ss

Sam smirked softly. "I wish I had as much faith in that as you do," he said.

Dean chuckled. "Who would've thought I'd be the one with faith in this family, huh?"

"I don't mind you having faith. It's not a bad thing," Sam said. "Never thought you'd have more faith than me though."

"I've always had faith in you."

"I'm supposed to have faith in you, not the other way around," Sam said.

"Yeah you are," Dean said, giving him his 'I'm your big brother so listen to me' look. "Which means you're supposed to believe me when I tell you that nothing bad's going to happen to you while I'm around."

"Yeah, okay," Sam said flatly, not wanting to argue with Dean.

"Try to sound like you actually believe it."

"Look, you're never going to be convinced something bad's going to happen to me, and I'm never going to be convinced that you can save me without getting hurt. So...there's just no point in arguing."
