How to Be a Complete Bitch Without Trying, Workshop 3, Period 2 (Monday, July 21)

When the students trickled into class today, they would probably be surprised to see that Tink and Jean-Paul were both already there. They had shown up early, instead of being fashionably late for once. Well. Being predictable was not very chic, now was it?

More importantly, Tink and Jean-Paul were very engrossed in a conversation of their own which had nothing to do with the pathetic, silly children that they were supposed to be teaching.

As Jean-Paul and Ms. Bell continued their very important conversation about her shoes and his hair, the students might notice that on the blackboard behind them, words had been written. These words, in fact: IGNORE THOSE LESS IMPORTANT THAN YOU. For the students capable of putting two and two together and getting four, this might explain a few things.

Students should, of course, be forewarned that having their own conversations would constitute ignoring those more important than themselves, and thus a shocking display of rudeness. The less important just had to suck up and sit quietly and wait their turn.

Or, of course, they could interrupt their professors to explain that they had, in fact, gathered the point of this week's lesson. Good luck with that one ...

Toby watched the teachers talk with glazed-over eyes. He was just happy to be himself again.

Lee threw a piece of paper at Toby.

"Are you all right?" Agnes asked.

Liir was far too pleased with the weekend to much care about the 'important' conversation. He was watching, but he was also smiling in amusement.

Was it at the teachers? Probably not. But it might have looked that way.

Agnes was actually pretty amused by the topic, and wondered what Granny would make of it. She was a witch, so theoretically everyone was less important than her. And ignoring them was exactly the opposite of her job description.

Agnes didn't interrupt them, but she DID try to wander over their direction as unobtrusively as possible and listen to their conversation.

As soon as Ron saw that he was being ignored, he just got up and headed for the door.

He had more important people in his life who needed to ignore him.

Warren wasn't going to waste his time by attempting to speak to the fairy and the pixie.

Instead, he was going to waste his time by perfecting his scowl at the fairy and the pixie.

Lee thought about going to sleep. That would portray boredom, right? Maybe that he was bored by them?

He tried that tact and faked sleep.

Oh, Liir was tops at dealing with this. Really, this whole class seemed to be an exercise in homesickness.

He didn't ignore them. He waited for a few minutes, considered his options carefully, and finally walked up to slip a small, half-slice of spiced chocolate brownie as well as a very small bottle of rum from his trip yesterday onto the front desk. He was well skilled at this particular tactic, and so they very well might completely ignore him and miss the offering until he was back at his desk.

Afterwards, he slipped right back and returned to his thoughts. After all, there wasn't anything wrong with just taking a little time out to think, now, was there?

And he would probably end up ignoring others just as a side-effect.

Aravis simply decided to find something better to do and completely tuned out both teachers, and pulled out a book to flip through.

That certainly communicated her feelings well.

Cimorene waited about five minutes for something to happen, and then pulled out a book and settled down to read.

Chuck was there. And ignoring everybody.

Something was left for Chuck as well: a perfectly normal looking orange. Well, not just normal. Very delicious looking.

The fact that it would taste like bacon when he bit into a slice?

Everybody loves bacon, right?
