After his weekend in New York City, Sam was hoping for an easy day in the library, to help him wind back down. Everything seemed quiet when he headed inside, but then he got to the main desk, and saw the X marked on the surface. Setting his breakfast down, he went around and peered under the desk, poking carefully at the wee treasure chest he found sitting on the floor.

When he stood up, he noticed just how many Xs were around the rest of the library, and set about checking the ones he could find. His first sweep resulted in eight chests, which he laid out on the table closest to the door. Maybe the chocolate would draw people in for once.

Peter accepted both the coin and the offering. "I knew there had to be a downside to having a best friend."

"I swear best friends are supposed to make fun of each other sometimes. I saw it in the guidelines and everything."

"I knew there was a downside to having a best friend who could read," Peter said.

"Is that why you come to the library? To distract me from the books?"

"I brought you coffee, didn't I?"

"Another distraction," Sam said.

"So... yes," Peter said, looking smug.

Sam tried to keep a straight face, but he couldn't help smirking at Peter. "I don't like you anymore."

"No way," Peter said, giving Sam over-the-top puppy eyes. "You can't resist my charm."

"Hey! That look is totally unfair," Sam said. "I didn't use that look on you."

"Because I'm better at it than you are," Peter replied.

"Now you're just being mean," Sam said, giving Peter a pout of his own.

"Fine, quit it," Peter said, not really mad. He tossed a coin at Sam.

Sam almost immediately switched back to his normal look, and grinned. "I'd say we're about equal. Maybe."

"Maaaaaaaaaaaaybe," Peter said.
