Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part III

Yes, there were more tables and chairs here. No, they were not allowed to be used for making a bonfire. Eat something hot if you're still weirdly cold.

[OCD is up! This is the SECOND post for general mingling. Use this post if your browser can't handle the comment load of the first mingling post. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are here.]

"Yeah. A girl, Susan," Chuck said as he tried to remember all the places Johnny had listed. "And I appreciate the concern but I've been doing this for a while. I'm very careful."

Shh, ignore the fact it was drugs that got him sent here.

"Susan Pevensie?" he asked.

"There's the roof; it's usually always quiet. But if you're looking to indulge now, dude, just wander off for a bit."

Johnny was not so good with giving good advice.

"That'd be her. She's cute," Chuck said. Susan had some great looking lips.

"Wandering off seems like a possibility," And it was just weed. It's not like his dad was going to care if he got caught with it. At least it wasn't coke again. "You want to come with?"

Johnny smirked. "She is."

Glancing around, he checked to see if anyone was paying particular attention to them. "Sure." Not like Johnny hasn't done a little weed before. What was the harm?

"Excellent," Chuck said. He stuck his hands in his pockets and started to walk towards the back of the school.

About halfway there he took his wallet out of his pocket and pulled out a joint. It was rare when he wasn't carrying at least one on him.

Johnny followed. Apprehension should be riding him high, but it wasn't.

"Came to school prepared, I see."

"I'm a regular Boy Scout," Chuck said, sticking the joint between his lips as soon as they turned the corner behind the school. He felt around his pockets for a second. "I take that back. I don't suppose you have a light?"

"Sure," he said and flicked his fingers, making a small flame. "May I?" he extended his hand a bit, allowing Chuck to light the joint easily if he chose.

Chuck jumped slightly when Johnny first made the flame. It was a quick movement and he immediately regained his composure, leaving only a raised eyebrow to show his surprise.

"That's handy," Chuck said, leaning in to light the joint. He sucked in the smoke slowly, closing his eyes at the feeling. He hadn't been able to smoke since as much as he wanted since his dad put him under house arrest.

Chuck handed the joint over to Johnny and blew out the smoke in his lungs. "Where'd you learn to do that?"

He doused the flame, grinned. "It's an added convenience," he admitted.

Accepting the joint, Johnny took a long drag, narrowing his eyes as he kept focused on anyone that seemed interested in what the boys were doing.

He handed it back. "It was inherited from a cosmic storm," he blew out as he spoke. "They call me the Human Torch," he told Chuck with a grin and nod. "I shit you not."

"Who's 'they'?" Chuck asked, taking another drag of the joint. He was still holding the smoke in even after he handed the join to Johnny. If he was going to stick around at this picnic all afternoon he was going to have to get really, really high.

"I'm a celebrity in my New York. A superhero you could say. The ladies love me, the guys think I'm a jock, and my sister thinks I need to grow up," he answered, taking another drag off the joint when handed back.

"It's why I was sent here. Sue can be rather... persuasive." He handed the the joint back.

Chuck's lungs were burning by the time he got the joint back but he didn't let it show. It had been way too long. He was starting to feel more relaxed now and didn't really mind talking about more personal things. After all, it wasn't like these kids were ever going to be in the same place as his friends in New York.

"I suppose my dad sent me here to grow up too," After all grown ups don't get caught with cocaine. They hide it well. "I got the big 'you should be more responsible' talk before I left."

It had been way way too long for Johnny but he was acting like it was just yesterday.

"Yep, I got the same thing. Been here over a year now and I still hear it, every single time I call home. Which is why I quit."
