He tilted his head, having barely heard that. "Katina?" he repeated. "You should try the food, it's good." Maybe he just felt like being annoying right now.

Katchoo jerked her chin down in a brief and sullen approximation of a nod. "Maybe later. Not hungry," she replied, the fleeting glance she gave him hinting at a growing desire to maybe throw something.

"Just a suggestion," he shrugged a shoulder and he did recognise that look. Heck, he was used to getting stuff thrown at him. "It's going to be a boring Summer if you spend it sitting under a tree."

He started to get up.

"Can't get into trouble this way, though," Katchoo pointed out, and oh, look, convenient rock. Convenient rock that went whistling toward Ichigo, thereby proving that maybe she could still get into trouble sitting under a tree.

Ow. That hit his back and he swirled around, glaring down at Katchoo.

"Hey! What the hell was that for?"

"Are you crazy or something?" he asked. Well, more like ranted apparently that helped with the whole jetlag thing. "You don't just throw rocks at someone. That's just rude!"

"And you thought I wasn't rude?" Katchoo inquired, mock honey dripping from the tone of her voice. "I'm really going to have to work on that."

Katchoo jumped to her feet, not noticing she'd broken the cigarette between her fingers when she clenched her fists. "Lemme tell you where you can shove your attitude sermon, frikkin' carrot-headed --"

Oh sure. Like he was going to just walk away from that. "There's nothing with my attitude. I'm not the one sitting to the side and smoking myself to death so I can wallow in self pity!"

"Who said that was what I was doing anyway?" Katchoo yelled. "I didn't ask you to come over here and tell me what to do!"

Note how that didn't actually address any of the accusations?

He just met her, he couldn't kick her in the face. That was rude too and he was proving a point. He really, really wanted to, though.

"Whatever," he ground out. It took a lot to slowly back up.

"Just stay upwind of the damn smoke and let me worry about my own lungs, will you?" Katchoo raised the cigarette and only now realized it had broken. "Aw, dammit!"

Ichigo watched it fall, which really made this whole thing even funnier. "I'll let you brood," he said cheerfully.

"Not brooding," grumbled Katchoo, who most definitely was, and she flashed a fairly rude hand gesture at him before turning around and stalking to the other side of the tree.
