He turned the slight, suspicious frown back on Amber. "You've been grinning ever since you started talking to me. You just in a good mood, or is something up?"
Re: General Mingling (Summer 2008 - 2.0)
"I was in a good mood; is it botherin' you?"
Re: General Mingling (Summer 2008 - 2.0)
Because girls did that.
Especially girls like Ino, although perhaps not so much Amber.
He shook his head a little. "No, I'm glad it's a good mood."
Re: General Mingling (Summer 2008 - 2.0)
It wasn't Ino's fault, but Amber resented her anyway. Childishly most like, but it was her feelings and she couldn't very well make them go away.
Re: General Mingling (Summer 2008 - 2.0)
...it didn't exactly take a rocket scientist.
Re: General Mingling (Summer 2008 - 2.0)
Amber looked away again. "There's lots of new students here. Met any of them yet?" She was determined to be evasive here; no sense in talking about people that just hurt her anyway. And no reason to declare why her mood changed in the first place. Let him be confused if he was; it would serve him right.

He took the cigarette out of his mouth, took a moment to look regrettably at the half length still remaining and then dropped it on the ground. His sneakers rubbed it into the dirt. "There. Now I'm not either. What the hell did you want a smoke for, anyway?"
She wasn't seriously getting all bent out of shape over this guy and whatever it was that was going on with Ino, was she?
Re: General Mingling (Summer 2008 - 2.0)
Amber raised her brow at him, considered his words with his actions and blatantly ignored his question. "I didn't tell you you couldn't smoke."

Hey, wait, why was he getting upset with her?
Amber cut her eyes over at him. "I know you're not upset with me?"

"You know, your nonchalance doesn't really affect me. You do know that, right?"
Re: General Mingling (Summer 2008 - 2.0)
He sighed, though, looking up a moment with his head tilted back, then rolling it to his other shoulder, stretching his neck. "Not like I can help it; it's just the way I am."

And then he had to bring up Ino, and... well, if it was what he thought it was, then he couldn't claim that he didn't know what it was like, but still.
