"Oh?" Helen said coolly. "It seems to have worked well enough till now. And besides, I am not glaring"

Ino looked undeterred. "Well, then, that's even more useless isn't it? Because you certainly aren't smiling."

A beat.

"I'm Ino, by the way."

"And your point would be?"

Helen stared at her blandly.

"And I am Helen Haras-Uquara."

"That leads me to think that, really, you'd rather be glaring more and aren't allowed to for some reason or..." Ino shrugged. "Which, you know, never works all that well because then it just leads to totally half-assed expressions."

Helen rolled her eyes. "No one asked you to come over and comment on my expressions or lack thereof."

Helen laughed despite herself. "And I begin to think perhaps you are."

"You should be," Helen said bluntly, but with a smile. "I do not suffer fools gladly."

"Hmmm.... one who will not stand up for oneself, who thinks too highly of their own accomplishments, one who will not listen to reason..."

Helen shrugged. "There are many other things. Though often they boil down to people who annoy me."

Helen raised her eyebrows. "Then we shall probably get along well. Unless you think that means you could walk over me."

"Only if you're going to let me walk all over you," Ino said. "Because I've got no problems doing so if I can. But, somehow, I'm guessing no. Which, really, is more fun anyway."

"I absolutely agree," Helen said. "Though I do not necessarily enjoy arguing... But if one must, then one wants someone who will stand up for themselves."
