Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

Despite the fact that they were still in Antarctica, the weather for the picnic was beautiful. It was sunny, warm, and clear enough to see many of the icebergs circling the island from the school's location. If people were still cold, there was more warm food than usual out on the tables, and hot drinks were being kept well-stocked.

Along with the tables and chairs near the food, there was a table of nametags, and two signs: one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and one listing rooms and roommates for the new students.

It was time for the picnic to begin!

Angela had decided by by this point, that she liked the nametag idea. It gave her a great excuse to check people out while she searched for her new roommate.

By the time she found Hannibal, she'd already decided she was going to really like this summer school idea.

"Hi." A grin spread on her face. "I'm Angela. I think I'm your new roommate."

"And I'm so very lucky," he said without thinking. Well, no, he meant to say that. "Hannibal King. It's a pleasure."

Oh, yes, this was definitely going to be fun. Hot male roommate. Big plus point for this place.

"Definitely," she agreed brightly. "You travel far to get here?"

"Oh, very far," he said, obviously teasing. He wiped his brow. "And boy are my arms tired."

Couldn't resist that.

"That was a bad one," he said, nodding. "Don't hold it against me."

"I'll do my best," she replied with a little smirk. "Can't really promise anything, though."

"What about you?" Hannibal asked. "You come very far? I'd offer to carry your bags but I don't see any."

"They're probably right at the bottom of a pile of luggage somewhere," Angela said with a resigned nod.

"I only live in DC, so didn't have a big trip to get here."

"What brings you down here?" Hannibal asked. "Bad thing or good thing?"

"My Dad was going away for a few weeks," Angela told him. "I thought this would be more fun than stating home."

"You?"

"I thought I'd take a vacation," he said, smiling. "Or my dad did. Vacation with quotation marks."

"Yeah." Hannibal shrugged. "Maybe there'll be alcohol and grass skirts for me to really think of this as a vacation."

"Snore, that is," she added.
